No idea what made me think to write this post but I would love to find at list out there like this since Michael and I are always looking for a new show to watch. I have loved A LOT of shows over the years and this is NOT a list of my favorite shows. This list is a group of shows that I would encourage anyone to watch. Do you see the difference there? If this was a list of my favorite shows then Dawson’s Creek would be on there and I am not naive enough to think that everyone would like that show. These shows are shows that have not only touched me or made me laugh but are shows that I think any adult will enjoy. That being said you may not enjoy it as much as I do or did but you surely will walk away with something from the show. So here is my list of shows that I would encourage EVERYONE/ANYONE to watch: (In no particular order)

LOST – I don’t know what to say about this show except you will love it. It is a tough road ahead when you watch it and there might even be times where you want to walk away but I think overall it is a satisfying show that will leave you wanting more.

Friday Night Lights – For a long time I thought this show was a little over rated and while I don’t think it is the BEST show ever I do honestly think MOST people would enjoy this show. There is a little something for everyone.

Modern Family – Who is not watching this show? It is so funny…Enough said!

Friends - I will never understand when I quote from Friends and people don’t know what it is from…that is just plain sad.

The Office – This show in its prime would rival some of the best comedies of all time. The cast just feeds off each other so well. It is a little over played now and the dry humor and stereotypes don’t surprise us anymore but man it was good.

24 – I went back and forth with this one but once again in its prime this show was on point. The entire concept of this show was amazing. I loved that we only see one full day. It would be hard to start seasons 1-3 and not be sitting on the edge of your chair each week waiting for the next hour.

The Key to Keeping Up with All Your Shows:

I had a friend emailed me yesterday and asked me how I keep up with all my shows, because she wasn’t sure she was going to be able to record all the shows she wanted to watch this fall. Here are some key things that I have found that help me to juggle all my shows.

First I have a DVR that records two shows at once. So that is a start for sure. The other things to know are where you can watch shows online and how quickly the sites update their episodes.

ABC: THEY ARE THE BEST!!! They put shows up quickly. So if you like The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Desperate Housewives, Private Practice, Grey’s Anatomy, etc. but don’t want it eating up space on your DVR, ABC is the absolute best about good picture quality and having the shows up by the following day as they are aired. They also give previews and sneak peeks to the next week’s episodes!

Other networks Some that are fairly good about updating their sites quickly are: MTV, NBC, and Fox. However none of them are as good as ABC, just trust me. However MTV does lots of fun extra footage for entertainment. CW is awful about updating their site; it takes weeks for them to upload the latest episode of a show. So even though most of the shows I watch on The CW are my least favorite shows I watch they usually end up being recorded because I have to wait weeks to watch them online.

Hulu – I have found that Hulu is GREAT for watching past season’s of shows or shows that are off the air but they don’t usually get shows more quickly than the network sites. Remember they still have ot get permission to publish the shows and if the networks don't have them up yet they won't give permission for Hulu to put them up. However I have heard that "New Girl" episode 1 is being posted to Hulu Tuesday Sept 13, one week before it airs. I will definitely be checking this one at early with all the buzz it has been getting.

As far as shows like American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance they don’t EVER release their shows to the Internet so if you miss them well you will have to try to find the performances on YouTube before the network snatches them down. Moral of the story- put them on your DVR!

I hope this is helpful when you are trying to decide what is a MUST DVR and what you can catch online.

As you can see I really don't have any problems right now with my shows however when you add in: American Idol, The Bachelor, One Tree Hill, and Mad Men things may be different.

Will there ever be another LOST?

My husband and I are in a TV lull. We can’t find a TV show that we both love! Ok well that is not entirely true. We both love Parenthood and Modern Family, A LOT! However we want to get back into a show we will be able to watch on DVD. We don’t want to have to wait a week to watch each show. Here are the problems we are having finding a show we can both enjoy:

1. I have A LOT of shows! As boring as some of my current shows are, I don’t give up on watching shows. I am really weird and once I start a show I finish it. Since fall TV is about to start back up I don’t want to add anything to my list unless I am going to LOVE it. Right now I will be watching: Desperate Housewives (final season), Brothers & Sisters, 90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Parenthood, Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, The Office and other shows rotate in like American Idol, The Bachelor, SYTYCD, Mad Men, and The Challenge.

2. Plot Lines – Michael tends to want to watch shows like “The Wire” “The Sopranos” “Breaking Bad”…. Do we see a trend here? I want to watch shows like, well the ones I listed above. I broke down and finally agreed on watching Mad Men and it has been pretty good. It is slow and the characters took me a while to have any connection with but after 4 seasons I am finally there. I started The Wire and I can appreciate it as good TV but it isn’t something I am on the edge of my seat to see. I mean I haven’t watched an episode in like 3 or 4 weeks and frankly I don’t miss it. I like to watch shows where I feel a real connection to the characters, where I feel for them. I also like there to be something that is up lifting. When a show is centered on the drug ring I just have a hard time watching those children get swallowed up in that life, knowing that it really happens. I know that LOST’s characters had flaws and very dark sides but there was something redeemable about each character.

3. High Expectations – Michael and I have really loved two shows together: LOST and Prison Break. We got really into Prison Break when we first got married. We would come home from work, fix dinner and sit and watch literally like 6 episodes of Prison Break. WE LOVED IT and couldn’t make ourselves stop watching. We would count down the hours until we got to see the next episode. Then when we caught up with Prison Break came LOST. LOST had been on for several years before we were introduced to it. We enjoyed watching Prison Break together and wanted another show we could both really enjoy. LOST did not disappoint. It was even more addictive than Prison Break. Prison Break’s first season was one of the best seasons of TV ever (in our opinion) but it slowly went downhill after season 1. We were invested enough in the characters to still be intrigued by the plot lines but season 1 was so good, it was hard to get past. LOST however never really disappointed us. There were dull episodes here and there but each season brought HUGE new developments, new mysteries, and new layers to the characters. They kept us on the edge of our seats until the very end. I think we are actually still waiting in anticipation, for nothing?!?! We invested a lot time in these two shows in our first years of marriage and we had so much fun watching them together. Now we want another show that we can both enjoy like these.

4. Disappointments: We have tried to watch other shows together, mainly dramas: B&S, Gossip Girl, Private Practice, The Wire, Weeds, and Arrested Development. None of them have caught both of our attention enough to make us both want to keep watching. Ok so we have had a couple shows that we both liked and watched together: Friday Night Lights and Mad Men. One is over and the other isn’t coming back until 2012! Neither of them is comparable to the way we felt about LOST or even Prison Break.

So the question is, will there ever be another show like LOST? A show we will both love, where there is enough action and suspense to keep us coming back for more, we feel such a strong connection to the characters, we can’t wait to see the next episode, we want to curl up on the couch all weekend and watch episode after episode???

Season Wrap Up

So we are drawing to a close on TV season 2010-2011, I am actually happy to be drawing this season to a close and I am not left sitting on the edge of my seat waiting the return of any show.

Let’s review:

Grey’s Anatomy- There was not a big cliff hanger ending (we all know MerDer will work it out) and the rest of the story lines were not very climactic. I hope Cristina has the baby. I hate that Lexi chose Avery. I am slowly falling out of love with this show. I am ready to wrap up and move on but not as much as I am with…

One Tree Hill- Seriously this finale would have been the perfect way to end the show. Brooke has twins and is happy in love. Nathan and Haley are happy and just re-opened Karen’s Café where Haley can still pursue her dreams of singing. Alex and Chase are together which I really like and then there is the rest of the bunch which I honestly don’t care about…Why did this show get renewed?!?!?

Gossip Girl - There was a little cliff hanger on Gossip Girl – either Blair or Serena is preggers! Or who knows it could be something stupid like Blair’s mom took a pregnancy test in Blair’s room to hide it from her hubby. But that is where we are left, Blair being with the prince (ugh –we all know she will end up with Chuck) and Serena being alone and annoying as per usual. Georgina is back which is a needed spice added to the show since it has gotten so dull. I don’t even watch the parts with Nate anymore because they are so boring! The only interesting thing awaiting next season is Dan’s book being published which is sure to stir up some drama.

Private Practice – Now that Ocean Wellness is dissolved and they are starting a new practice the show is going to be the same (minus Naomi). I hate Addison and Sam together so that was a real bummer for me. And I guess we are left with the cliff hanger of Pete’s heart attack (but since Naomi is the only one leaving the show I am thinking he will make it). This will be another downward spiral for Violet and Pete and Violet will be sad that she left him and wasn’t there! So done with their relationship, just be happy and let’s move on.

90210- Why have I gotten into this show?!?! It doesn’t really matter why but I have. I like Naomi and Max together but I really just like Naomi (not sure why) and I want her to have her man! I am definitely intrigued by the pregnancy story line but I hate how pregnancy is thrown around so much just to make the drama between characters better. So at this point Naomi either has an abortion (which I hate), gives the baby up for adoption (which would be so hard and has already been done once on this show), has a miscarriage (which is also really hard) or keeps the baby and her life is forever change on the show. It is a big story line to throw at a character. I guess she could also be lying to keep him around?!?! I should also note that I don’t like Annie (never have) so I hate that her and Liam are together. Also I don’t like Silver and Navid together. I actually liked him and Adrianna and they had to go and make Adrianna all psycho!

Desperate Housewives – this is yet another show that I wish would end but the finale actually did pull me back in. It might be one of the best finales of the season, especially if you consider the length and drama of years past. This episode did a great job of drawing viewers back into the tangled web which is Wisteria Lane. I love the fact that all the main characters are in on this murder cover up for Carlos. It will affect so many story lines on the lane. I hate that Tom and Lynette are separated!!! I hate it so so so much! They are the only couple that has been together since the beginning of the show and it is annoying how TV feels like they need to break everyone up. This storyline makes me anxious to see if they will make it work!

Parenthood – Ahhh a breath of fresh air!! This is the only show I am anxious to see, not because of the way it was left just because I love this show! I love every character and each story line on the show. I can’t wait to see what is in store for these characters next season.

Brothers & Sisters – I am bored just thinking about it….

Mad Men- We have one disc left to finish out this last season and then we will have to wait until January…I will let you know if I am excited to see next season.

The comedies: The Office (a little interested to see how things play out without Steve). Modern Family (it is a joy to watch)

Reality Shows: There isn’t much to say about these shows, we look forward to seeing them right before they return: American Idol, The Bachelor (which the Bachelorette started last night), The Voice (it has been interesting so far)

So now we start summer shows which I am severely lacking in but it is kind of nice to have a break for my DVR! Here is what I am watching this summer:

The Bachelorette – I don’t really care for Ashley but I am sure I will watch this show but I am going to try not to because it is just trash TV that I don’t need to get into. (I didn't watch it last night, yes!)

The Voice – It is kind of a summer show because it seems like it will last atleast through June.

So You Think You Can Dance- Always love this show! The all-stars have not been announced and likely not been chosen yet. Nigel said this year he wants the all-stars to compliment the top 10 dancers so it will depend on who makes the top 10. You know they have their list of possibilities. I sure hope that list includes: Ivan (wouldn’t that be fun), Allison Holker (she did incredible last season), Pasha (you need a great ballroom guy and who is better), Kent Boyd (wasn’t he great last season), Chelsie Hightower (I love her but she probably has other things going on), Mark (he is touring with well everyone right now), Joshua (he would be super fun to have back), Katie (she would also be amazing). I would love Travis but I think he should stick to choreographing because his routines have been awesome!

Now let’s talk about a few shows I am excited to see in the Fall:

Person of Interest – created by JJ Abrams (always intriguing) and has Michael Emerson and Jim Caviezel as the cast.

The New Girl – I really like Zooey Deschanel.

Up All Night – Christina Applegate is fun to watch and this could be a really funny show.

How Great Thou Art

I am going to stick with the Entertainment theme on this blog but I definitely wanted to post something about Easter weekend. This past sunday was Easter and I hope it was a true reminder of what Christ did for us on the cross. He bore the weight of OUR sin, he took OUR place and OVERCAME sin and this world!!! We can have VICTORY in Jesus!!! I hope you were reminded of the true meaning of Easter and it touched you to the CORE!!! I came across this youtube which is very appropriate for this time of year and I just pray that all the people that performed and in the audiance understood the true meaning of the words being sung....HOW GREAT THOU ART!!!

Why Are You Not Watching Parenthood?!?!

I am going to keep plugging this show until everyone is watching! I believe this is truly the best show on TV right now! It actually ranks in my top five favorite shows of ALL TIME! If you aren’t watching this show I am not sure why? Please tell me! Is it because you haven’t seen it? Do you not like it? How is that possible? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Once again let’s review some reasons why you should be watching Parenthood:

1. The actors – last time I really focused on the parents and how great they are (AND THEY ARE) but the kids on this show are equally amazing! Amber (Lauren Graham’s daughter played by Mae) is wonderful. She may be my favorite character but it really is so hard to pick a favorite because they all do a wonderful job! I can’t imagine the cast being any better and there is not ONE character that I could do without. If one person left I would be really sad and I can’t say that about a show since Friends!
2. Plot lines – I hit on this last time but this show has realistic plot lines that pull you in. Real life is funny, they don’t take things over the top. It pulls at your heart strings and makes you laugh out loud. There are not many shows that do that. Most shows are one or the other. Grey’s – Purely drama, Modern Family – Comedy, this show is MOST DEFINITELY a DRAMEDY and PERFECT one at that. Desperate Housewives is a DRAMEDY but it is so crazy and over the top it isn’t nearly as good as Parenthood.
3. I want to watch it over and over and can’t wait for new episodes. I seriously could watch the episodes over and over again, they are that good.
4. Friday Night Lights Stars – If you are a FNL fan then there are several cross over stars on the show: Minka Kelly, Michael B. Jordan (Vince – had no idea his name was Michael Jordan until I just look it up), and even Angela Rawna (Vince’s mom) appears in one episode.

I wish I could find the perfect words to make you watch this show because it is great and you are REALLY missing out if you aren’t already hooked! Here is a sneak peek at Season 2 (which is on now) but it shows a little bit of the wonderfulness of the show: WATCH THE SHOW!!!

America's Best Dance Crew - NEW JUDGE!

It should be fun to watch his interaction each week with the judges and the crews. HOWEVER this probably means he won’t be an All Star on So You Think You Can Dance This Season which makes me REALLY sad! Maybe he can do BOTH!! Top 9 Performance Rankings:

I need to start off by saying I thought everyone did a good job last night I think OVERALL it might have been the best night. That doesn’t mean I think this was everyone’s best performances but I think it was across the board a good night for everyone which makes the rankings this week very difficult. I wrote down my order and I keep wanting to change it around (I am not 100% comfortable with what I came up with) but I am leaving it alone. You be the judge (and I know some of you will), did I get it right?

Casey – LOVE him and the upright bass! This is his lane (as JLo would say).

Paul – I think this was Paul’s best performance on the big stage. I thought it was fun and showed off his style better than anything he has performed (I almost put him first) THOSE TWO ARE MY TOP TWO FOR SURE AND THE REST GETS A LITTLE HAZY:

Lauren – I loved her version but after listening to past idols perform this, I see what Randy is saying and it makes me want to drop her down a couple spots.

Jacob – Well he still gets on my nerves “if I get sent home it is not because I didn’t sing it well or because I didn’t do good – it is because America didn’t want to look in the mirror” hmmm I understand what he is saying but let’s not come off as arrogant while doing so. Also I am not sure it would have been nearly as good with out the back up singer (she rocked)!

Haley – I really like her! This week was not nearly as good as last week’s Benny & the Jets.

Scotty – I think he did well. I do think he is a one trick pony but he is smooth and I like his voice.

Pia – I don’t care that the song was “upbeat” it was still boring. Here is the deal she is kind of like Celine Dion (obviously not as good). She is a good singer but is that style really going to make it in the industry? Her upbeat songs still seem like faster ballads. I am sorry she just doesn’t pull me into her performances AT ALL. But there is no denying the girl can sing!

James – He is slowly winning me over with his personality. I didn’t think he was bad this week at all and I somewhat enjoyed his performance but there were moments where I found that I was forcing myself not to press fast forward.

Stefano – He is sweet but it is the same thing week after week. And unlike Scotty his one trick is not as fun or as endearing. I found myself zoning out during his performance.

I hate to say it but I think it is Stefano’s time to go home. I think it is possible that Paul and Haley will join him in the bottom three even though, clearly from my list, they are not deserving this week.

My Thoughts: Grey's Music Episode

I will go ahead and tell you I was NOT a fan of the Music episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Here is why: · The Music was OK: It isn’t necessarily that the music was bad, because it wasn’t (except that one song with all the couples singing). And I will give it to Shonda Rimes, she was right that I was surprised at how well Lexie can sing. I understand the thought process behind this, "we have great singers (Tony Award winning singers) and we have GREAT music, why not combine them?" BECAUSE you are a MEDICAL DRAMA! · Instead of adding to the emotion it took away. I didn’t think this episode was bad, but it could have been GREAT! I think the singing did the opposite of what they intended. I believe they thought that the characters singing would add a new level of emotion to the story lines but for me it just took the attention away from the story. When Lexie goes to check on Mark and start singing “Just Breathe” it was awkward and I wanted to scream STOP singing and talk to him. I felt like this was true of the majority of the episode. When Hunt started singing about the surgery it was almost comical, that scene was NOT meant to come across like that. Ok so those are my thoughts I know there are a lot of people out there that really liked it, I would love to hear why you liked it so much! Please watch that episode and watch the episode with Meredith almost drowning or Burke getting shot or Izzie finding out she has cancer and tell me that episode brought the same kind of emotion?!?!? I just don’t see how! Here is a clip from when Meredith drowned, no DOUBT music played a huge role in making these scenes emotional. Especially when Mark walks up and sits by Derek. The music helps you to feel the emotion of the scene it adds to it, in no way is your attention drawn to the music. It is drawn more into the scene, into the emotion of the characters. Can you imagine if Mark had been singing that song when he walked up to Derek, no because it wouldn’t have been as good, silence in that moment was PERFECT! Watching this scene reminds me of the best times of Grey’s when Dr. Burke, Izzie, George, and Addison were all still there, ahhh those were the days! George dying…chills EVERY TIME!! American Idol Top 11 (AGAIN):

I am not doing a ranking this week because I didn’t get to watch the episode last night yet however I have watched the performances on youtube. I haven’t had time to process and decide what I think. I really liked Lauren and Haley this week; they may have been my favorites, which is a first! I think Thia, Niama, Paul, and Stefano are in trouble this week. I think that Niama and Thia should go home.

Grey's Anatomy & Mad Men

Ok so all of my blogging lately has been about Idol but there hasn’t been much else on TV lately. My shows are slowly starting to come back on but they will only return for a few episodes and then will be gone again. Here are some thoughts on a couple of my shows:

Grey’s Anatomy- the Music Episode. Ok so I have not been this excited about an episode in a LONG time and it has almost NOTHING to do with the music. I was on the edge of my seat as I watched the preview for this episode. I know Grey’s does it time and time again, a cast member on the operating table but I love it every time (or almost every time). There is something so great about seeing these doctors who deal with the life and death of patients every day forced to deal with the patient being one of their own. I know it is probably very unrealistic that every doctor in the hospital be put on one patient just because they are a friend but it is still GREAT TV. Well due to the shift in characters the past couple season’s Mark & Lexie are my favorite couple on the show and yes I know they aren’t a couple right now but they SHOULD BE! That being said I think this could be an interesting episode for them. Mark will clearly be experiencing all sorts of emotions this episode with his Best Friend/Baby Mama gasping for life and the fate of his unborn child hanging in the balance. I can’t wait to see Lexie’s reaction to all of this.

We all over the years have LOVED the songs played on Grey’s Anatomy. They pick such amazing songs that bring just the right emotion to the forefront. I am definitely interested to see how the singing plays out but in my eyes it could go either way. I just hope we get to really experience all the drama that will take place!

Mad Men- My husband and I are still a season behind on Mad Men, we are anxiously awaiting its release to DVD. However it was just announced that the fifth season of Mad Men will not return until early 2012!! That means we will have to wait that much longer to get caught up! URGH!

The Judges SAVE!

Here are some of my thoughts on the judges save and saving Casey Abrams. First let’s take a look at what happened last night again: (I love how Ryan Secrest does not know what to do)

I love the idea of the judges save. We have seen some people in the past go home too early because of an off week or simply because America assumed they would be safe. Let's take a look back at the contestants that got voted off too early and are the reason why they started the judges save:

Should they have used the save this early??? They should only use the save this early if it is someone who has the potential to win or someone who America will truly be just as shocked as the Judges that they got voted off. So yes I love that they used the save this early. At this point there are only a couple that I think they should have used the save for Casey or James. I honestly think if it had been anyone else they should have gone home at this point but I am sure if Pia had been in the bottom they would have saved her as well.

Some many may still question using the save this early and here is my response to that:

It was NOT his time to go home. Now that the judges have used their one and only save then America needs to get it right from this point on…I guess I need to start voting : )

American Idol Top 11:

MOTOWN WEEK - a lot of people are talking about how great this week was well I am not sold. There weren’t many performances I loved but on the flip side there weren’t many I hated either. This week my favorites have been all moved around and my top spots are given to people that are far from my favorites. Let’s take a look:

1. Jacob – Your All I Need to Get By -I must admit Jacob’s past performances have rubbed me wrong and I wasn’t really paying much attention until the end of the song when he did “as brothers you got me…” and then I found myself rewinding it three times to see it! It was a moving and wonderful performance. I loved that he controlled his voice for most of the song and he belted only when he needed to. It was my favorite of the night!

2. James – Living for the City- Well James has rubbed me wrong in past weeks bc he seems cocky after he sings. After speaking to a friend who works with adults with aspergers she informed me that this could be due to his lack of social skills. So I am cutting him a break. I thought he did really well and I am starting to warm up to him.
3. Casey – I Heard it Through the Grapevine- He is getting kind of repetitive or something but I still like him!
4. Lauren - You Keep Me Hanging On- A lot of rankings have her really low but I thought she sounded great but I feel she has still has so much more potential
5. Scotty- For Once in My Life- He has something over me and it is hard not to like his performances, especially that low note like JLo pointed out. I like that he is taking risks with the range in his songs but I would love for him to go back to the low voice next week.
6. Paul – The Tracks of My Tears – I really like Paul and his voice but I am beginning to think AI is not really the place for him. I hope he stays around a few more weeks and is able to pick up a deal for his band bc I bet with his band singing his own songs he is awesome. I love the song he sang this week but I have to admit I was thinking back to Adam Lambert’s performances a couple season ago and I think Adam won:

7. Stefano – Hello – I am starting to have the same problem with Stefano as I do with Pia. I think he has a great voice and he is pretty likable but his performances are getting boring week after week.
8. Haley – You've Really Got a Hold on Me- I thought she was better this week and I still love her voice. I had such high hopes for her this week given the MoTown theme but I just think she still needs to pick better songs.
9. Pia – All in Love is Fair- I know the girl can sing but she puts me to sleep week after week…SO BORING!
10. Thia – Heat Wave – I didn’t give her the bottom spot because at least she did something upbeat and her voice sounded good but something about her on stage is still so blah…not sure what she needs to do. My over all thought once again is pick better songs.
11. Naima – Dancing in the Streets - A lot of rankings have her listed pretty high this week. I did think she hit her notes better this week but I still think she is all over the place and her voice isn’t as strong as others in the competition.

I still think the bottom three will be Naima, Haley, and a toss-up between Paul/Thia. I personally think it should be Thia but she does seem to have a following.

Overall I was disappointed with this week’s performances I just feel like there are so many people that aren’t making good song choices and aren’t living up to their potential. Even so here is my run down from last night and who I think is likely in the bottom three:

1. Stefano – I am not the hugest Stefano fan bc I just don’t like hearing cheesy ballads over and over but you got to give it up for the only one that really seems to hit every note last night!

2. Lauren- Ahhhh back to the girl I love. I love this song choice and she did make it a little country but I see her singing this style music more than country or maybe I just want her to!

3. Casey – I love him so it is hard for him to do wrong. This was a bold song choice since this song is ICONIC! I agree with Jlo that some parts felt more screamed but overall I enjoyed his performance. It was one of the few non-ballads which is a nice change.

4. Scotty – I think this guy does a great job of picking songs. I actually didn’t love his song choice last week for his voice (it was a little big) but I love The River and he didn’t do badly. Travis Tritt is PERFECT for him. I thought this was an excellent song choice.

5. Pia – Ok I am finally convinced that she can sing (even though her voice isn’t my favorite) but I did not like this song choice but atleast it was a little more up tempo.

6. James – It was just ok for me.

7. Paul – I really like his voice but I am confused why he doesn’t slow it down and get his guitar out….At first I thought it was because he wasn’t allowed but Casey used his bass last night.

8. Haley – I really like her voice but this song didn’t showcase her vocals, it was just the wrong song choice for her

9. Jacob – I thought he was “pitchy” the entire song plus it is hard to not compare it to these performances of “Alone”

The choice is confusing all around, and makes me wonder if people will ever just leave Rihanna songs alone. I just don't see this going well, but she's in the last spot so maybe it will?"

So this year I feel like there are some unique voices that I love! It is more about the style then the strength of your voice (does that make since?). The Bachelor - FINAL THREE

I am going to just fill ya’ll in on few of my opinions on the Bachelor (because I know you are dying to know). We are down to the final three (Ashley, Chantal, & Emily) but let’s take a couple steps back. Aren’t we glad he finally got rid of Michelle?!?!? I thought that girl was crazy and stuck up. She has a movie coming out now….totally makes sense right. Do we actually think she was ever in it for love? I guess the real question is how many of them actually are in it for love??? I liked the final four he ended up with. There were moments throughout the season that I really didn’t like Chantal (she seemed abrasive) but now I almost just feel sorry for her because out of all the girls she seems to have really fallen for Brad. I actually think Shawntel was my favorite, she just seemed like the person I would most enjoy being around and I thought she was really pretty. However I knew she was going home this week because the other three clearly had more of a connection with Brad. So now we are down to the final three and let’s discuss each one of them:

Chantal – I already hit on her a little. She really seems to have fallen in love with Brad and seems really insecure in this situation. Can you blame her??? She looks great but around those other little stick people she looks bigger than she is and you could tell during the SI photo shoot she was feeling the pressure. Anyways I think her insecurities run deeper than just her appearance. She is the only one left that has been through a divorce and I am sure that makes you feel a certain way when competing for a guy. I haven’t read any spoilers of who wins but for some reason some of the news articles I have read lead me to believe she might win or atleast be one of the last two standing! I guess we will see this week!

Emily – I hope I ya’ll don’t hate me after I write what I think about this. Ok so Emily is no doubt SUPER sweet and has been through A LOT! I definitely feel badly for her and we will never really know the full story with her. However I have heard rumors that she has definitely dated some other Nascar drivers since the death of her finance and ABC is making this story appear different than I think it is. But that is not Emily’s fault. Also her look is typically not the look I like (it looks very fake- even if it isn’t). Anyways something about her doesn’t draw me in as much as it has the rest of America. However I will say again I think she is really sweet and probably very genuine but something is off to me. Maybe it is just something doesn’t sit right with her and Brad, I just don’t see them together. But the way he talks about her makes you feel like he puts her on a pedestal and that he doesn’t think he is good enough for her, is that a good or a bad thing for a relationship??? I am undecided!

Ashley – In the beginning I liked Ashley she was bubbly and sweet and seemed like the girl next door. Then somewhere in the middle she was a little crazy/whiny (the group hot tub scene was awkward for everyone). But now I kind of like her again and I actually think her and Brad make the most sense. However Brad seems a little turned off by her insecurities sometimes, but maybe that is what ABC wants us to think :) The only thing that makes me think that she might not make it through next week is the fact that I feel like most TV gossip sites have picked Chantal and Emily as the final two! Who knows but if I hadn’t read any of the sites, I would say she really had a shot at being the final one standing. What do I know????

American Idol Hollywood Rounds Break My Heart Once again…

It is no secret that in the past I fell for contestants during the audition portion of AI and they were CUT way too early! http://happywatching.blogspot.com/2009/01/countdown-to-american-idol.html I wrote about it back in 2009. Why do I do this to myself?!?!?! Anyways this year is no different my favorites have already been cut. I tried hard this year to avoid getting too attached to people early but once again I found myself really pulling for Rob Bolin and Chelsee Oaks (yes the ex-couple from Nashville). I kept telling my husband, I really only care if Rob and Chelsee make it! DOH!!! Why oh why can't I just wait to have a favorite!

I LOVE when they sang together and for some reason he just drew me in because it felt like he really loved/loves her, you know I am a sucker for a good love story. Something about their connection was so appealing and just warmed my heart. I almost feel sorry for Chelsee’s current boyfriend because you know all of America is routing for these two to get back together. I hope one day we will see that they are married and dueting together! Also they seemed like real musicians and the type of people I would go to workplay (local venue) to hear. I don’t like watching the train wrecks I know this is a lot of people’s favorite part but I actually like the purpose of the show to find hidden talent throughout America. I also really like Steven Tyler although I could do without all the singing/screaming. I know who you are Steven Tyler you don’t have to keep reminding me. To be honest my least favorite judge is Randy partly because it feels like he is trying too hard to be like Simon and he just isn’t.

The Bachelor - IS BACK!

Reality Steve is at it again, spoilers that is. So the Bachelor starts in January and RS (Reality Steve) is already busy giving away all kinds of details. Because neither my readers nor myself want to know the BIG spoilers (like who Brad will pick) I am trying to skim through his blog and just pick out the things that I think ya’ll will want to know without giving too much away!

Let’s get started:

DeAnna and Jenni are back!

Brad pre-taped a segment with DeAnna and Jenni a couple months ago as closure with the girls (and America) and it will air premiere night, January 3rd. Jenni is now married and DeAnna is engaged but this was meant to get any dirty laundry out in the open and allow everyone to move on with this season of The Bachelor.

The bachelorette’s honestly didn’t know 100% who the bachelor was until they pulled up in the limo. RS didn’t announce it was Brad until Sept 20 and most of the girls flew out for filming on Sept 21 and 22 (which means no more TV, Internet, Phones etc)…so even if they looked at RS blog on the 20th they still weren’t 100% sure it was Brad.

The slap is staged and fake, we all knew this, right?

I was scared to read too much more. The only other things I know are: there are 30 bachelorette’s, Ali and Roberto will show up in episode 2 or 3 to help Brad find out who is there for the right reasons, and there is no BIG dramas that will unfold in the house (no one has a boyfriend, no one leaves and then comes back etc.).

Apparently some of the girls do have some dirty laundry in their personal lives that might end up all over the tabloids but RS said he isn’t in the business of airing dirty laundry just spoilers.
So there you have it. I don’t know who gets kicked off when or who wins just a few little tid bits to get you intrigued on this coming season of the bachelor!

Oh and there will be a Bachelor Pad Season 2, they won’t be casting until after the three reunion parties (they have to see who will bring the most drama and interest to the show).

Friday Night Lights, is that it?

(No need to worry Kent and Dana)

Friday Night Lights (FNL) was one of those shows that my husband and I started late because we were convinced by friends that it was a great show. This is how we come across a lot of shows we watch/watched (Lost, SYTYCD, Gossip Girl, Mad Men, Glee, etc.). We loved season 1 and 2 of FNL but I must admit it has been slowly going downhill ever since. Friday Night Lights wanted to try to “keep it real” and when the characters graduated they moved on much like in real life. They didn’t have all the characters go to a local community college or follow them all to a far away college. We had to say good bye to our favorite characters and welcome in new ones. In theory this is a great idea, I know we always make fun of the shows that have all the prime characters go to a local college. However for ME this idea didn’t pan out well. The reason why most of us love shows is because we get attached to characters and their story lines…we want to see what happens to them! I digress, last season on FNL we had a few of the prime characters left and so it was able to keep my attention. The story lines weren’t great bc we had to settle for new love interests (relationships and activities). But this season we have said goodbye to ALL of our first group of high school students, accept Julie (whom we have followed to college where she is sleeping with her professor- that is an entirely different soap box).

So now that I have caught you up…This is the last season of Friday Night Lights and I ask Friday Night Lights, is that it? Have we seen the last of all our favorite characters? I know you pride yourself on being “real” but is this really how you are going out? We didn’t even get a proper goodbye for our boy Landry. What about Matt, was him driving back to college the last we will see of him? Lyla getting on the bus leaving Tim? Tim in Jail? SERIOUSLY is this it? I have been SOOOO disappointed with the last couple seasons of FNL but I thought for sure the final season would be good.

Here is what I need to make me happy:

Julie to freakin wake up and stop sleeping with her professor
Matt and Julie get back together
Tim to get out of JAIL and to go find Lyla
Landry to run into to Tyra at college and the sparks immediately fly again
I would also like updates on Smash and Jason
I might be harsh but I don’t care about Luke, Jess, Becky. I care a little about Vince.
This doesn’t seem like to much to ask for, does it? :)

So FNL, what’s it going to be? Are you going to try to keep it “real” until the very end or are you going to try to please your viewers?

Ok so it has been a while since I posted a blog so here I am trying to fill in some gaps. Fall TV is in full swing and I still don’t have much to talk about, I am not sure if it is the lack of good shows on TV or if it is me being lazy. I think it is a combination.

General quick thoughts:

Brothers and Sisters: doesn’t have enough money to pay their full cast so they are getting rid of characters….which in turn is ruining story lines. They killed off Rob Lowe (that story line doesn’t bother me too badly). Then they say farewell to Rebecca….ok don’t get me wrong I really thought the Rebecca/Justin relationship was so icky in the beginning but they really made us want them to be together. They worked so hard for three seasons for us to like them as a couple and then in one fail swoop they tear them apart? I am confused, they both love each other and they are just going to part ways?? I hate this story line. Seriously there isn’t one story arch in this show that I like….but I keep watching.

Desperate Housewives : I only have one word to describe this show “desperate”….that is what the story lines scream…they are desperate to have ratings and desperate to keep the show alive.

Gossip Girl : I don’t like Serena and I believe this is another show that doesn’t think there story lines through. They have really messed up the couples on this show…The three big couples on the show (in my opinion) are Blair and Chuck (they will end up together), Lilly and Rufus and Dan and Serena…but how will Dan and Serena and Lilly and Rufus all ever be together when Dan and Serena are technically step brother and sister…WEIRD! I still love Chuck and Blair and they are the only good thing about this show. SERENA DRIVES BE CRAZY!!!!

90210: I don’t know why I watch this show, I started because I loved the original but now I still watch this show…Naomi is my favorite character and Annie gets on my nerves…I guess that is about right since last time I loved Kelly and hated Brenda.

One Tree Hill: Seriously have nothing to say about this show…I usually fast forward through most of it. OTH please make this your last season (even though I am pretty sure they are signed on for an additional season).

Grey’s Anatomy: the only things I care about on this show is Cristina getting better and Lexie and Mark getting together…the rest is mute. I still love Alex but they have totally screwed up his story line by removing his true love so I have no idea what I want for him.

Private Practice: This show is the MOST frustrating to me… Here is the original list of people I wanted to be together:

Addison /Pete
Copper/Violet
Naomi/Sam

If you watch the show you see how none of these couples are together and it doesn’t look like any of them ever will be (nor do I want them to be anymore).

When Addison first stepped into Seattle Grace hospital she was a cheater, she cheated on McDreamy and all the TV world hated her…it took them a long time to make us like her and to accept her into our TV hearts….then we liked her enough to follow her to her own hospital (er…TV Show). NOW SHE IS SLEEPING WITH HER BEST FRIENDS EX HUSBAND?!?!?!?! WHAT ???? Writers why did we go down this road…I find myself not liking her again. I am so frustrated with this show because I have no idea who to pull for…

Now on to the shows I am actually enjoying:

Parenthood : this is my favorite show right now. I love this family. I love the dynamic between the actors. I love how true to life it feels. It is the perfect balance of comedy and drama. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SHOW!!! (It is on the bubble right now for being canceled – which makes me VERY SAD – more about that in my next post).

Modern Family: it is a nice break of laughter for me each week. Perfect timing, perfect actors!

Cutthroat- RW/RR Challenge – I have no idea why I love this show so much but I do! I always have. If MTV would ever sell this show (or Making the band Season 2) on DVD I would buy them in a second. The only down side to the Challenge is that we are slowing losing all the original players and so far I don’t like the newbies nearly as much but one day I am sure I will.

Thoughts on the Shows I am catching up on:

Mad Men: I am still not sure what the draw is here…it is a very slow show and I still don’t like ANY of the characters. However I want to see season 2 – but as you can see from my list of shows above I am not one to give up on a show or not see it to the end. Therefore I will continue to watch this show but I have not seen what everyone loves so much about it.

Glee: I kind of feel the same about Glee as I do Mad Men. Accept I really like the characters on Glee but I find it annoying and cheesy 60% of the time…but 40% of the time it is entertaining and fun.

The Event: Can’t say much about it, only watching one episode, but if every episode has my attention like the first one did I may have a new addiction.

MAD MEN

Ok so Michael and I bought season 1 of Mad Men and started it this past weekend. Let me start by saying please please don’t give any spoilers or anything away. I do love to go read spoilers on shows from time to time but I hate when something is spoiled when I wasn’t wanting it to be. Understand??? Ok now on to the show. We are only 4 episodes in but so far I don’t get the appeal. I guess I can say it is well acted and well written but the plot lines, so far, are extremely boring. Not to mention I simply HATE Don Drapper. I think most women think he is an attractive Man but I always just thought he was ok and now I can’t stand to look at him. Not to mention PEGGY drives me crazy (I am not going to go into why because it would be too cruel). Anyways I can’t find any character to hold on to…I like Betty right now but I have been told I won’t for long…. UGH and when I just went to find out if I got her name right I read a spoiler that I didn’t want to know – see I am annoyed now!! Mad Men fans out there tell me, am I ever going to like these characters? Is there ever going to be more interesting plot lines?

Right now I am really wishing we started watching GLEE first.

New Judges on Idol

American Idol has officially welcomed two new judges to the panel: JLo and Steven Tyler have taken the spots sitting next to Randy Jackson this coming season. I must admit I am interested to see how these two interact with the contestants and what they will bring to the show but no one will ever be able to completely fill the shoes of Simon. I am more excited to see Steven Tyler then JLo.

New Bachelor???

Remember him? Yes that is the Brad Womack the bachelor who chose no one. He left DeAnna and Jenni in the cold and said he didn’t want to continue a relationship with either bachelor contestant. I actually really liked him because I felt he was one of the more REAL people on the show. It is rumored that ABC is looking to re-sign him as the next Bachelor. As most everyone knows the Bachelor franchise likes to have “familiar” people take the spotlight each season. They haven’t had a “new” bachelor/bachelorette since 2008s Bachelor Matt Grant. If you remember since then we have had Jason and Jake. ALL the Bachelorette’s have been previously rejected women: Trista, Meredith, Jenn, DeAnna, Jillian, and Ali. Apparently ABC tried really hard to get Chris L. (runner up in Ali’s season) to be the Bachelor but he declined the offer. They are also rumored to be looking at Ty from Ali’s season but I think he would be boring. I say bring back BRAD! At least he might throw some curve balls!

Why I Won't Watch DWTS

I can’t tell you the number of times people have said to me “YOU DON’T WATCH DANCING WITH THE STARS??? YOU WOULD LOVE IT!” Last night my husband and I sat down and watched the last 5 contestants perform and I am sticking with my original decision to not watch this show. I know it seems like a logical choice for me to watch. It has two of my favorite things in the title “DANCING with the STARS” – if you know me at all you know that I LOVE famous people! It is a weird obsession of mine (don’t worry I am not a stalker or anything). I love keeping up with what is going on in their lives and I have a weird pull on my heart for them (I know that is weird) but it is true! I have met several famous people over the years and it has been AWESOME and I always exercise extreme class and grace in those moments (class and grace equals, grabbing arms, screaming, taking pictures, and telling them how much I love them, right???). I also love DANCING! I am known for being the first one on the dance floor. A girl from my high school (thanks Leslie) actually made me a tape (yes a tape) of our high school dance team dances. I wasn’t on the dance team just love to watch their awesome dances. I also love SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE!

With these two things clearly in the show you would think I would love it, but I don’t. Let’s review these two things again. STARS – the people on this show are barely stars (I know if I saw them I would probably get excited) but I don’t really care about what is going on in their lives. There have been exceptions over the years because of my love of TV they have had some people on that I would be interested in (Jeannie Garth, Shannon Doherty, Audrina Patridge) but overall I don’t care about these people. The only other draw to the people on this show is Chelsie Hightower because I LOVED her on SYTYCD but it was PAINFUL to watch Michael Bolton so I don’t think I will be sad to miss that. DANCING- The dancing is MEDIOCRE at BEST! Most of the dancing was extremely painful to watch and made me appreciate the contestants on SYTYCD that much more. I don’t enjoy ballroom dancing that much to begin with and this show is ALL ballroom and not even GOOD ballroom. My two favorite styles on SYTYCD are contemporary and hip hop. I am not impressed by this show and I don’t find their contestants amusing, more desperate.

On the plus side this won’t be taking up space on my DVR.

Fall TV is BACK!

And it has begun….

Fall TV has officially started back! I love this time of year for so many reasons, I love when the weather it starts to turn cool (not cold), I love ALABAMA football, the holiday’s are quickly approaching, and of course I love fall TV. I must say so many of the shows I watch are well past their primes: Grey’s Anatomy (for me the loss of George and Izzy was too much), One Tree Hill (this show pretty much ended after they left high school), Desperate Housewives (it feels like the same repeated story lines over and over), Private Practice (they have royally screwed up the couples on this show, I don’t know who to route for anymore), Gossip Girl (season 1 was great but it went downhill fast), and Brothers & Sisters is still hanging on but some of the story lines have been pretty icky (Justin/Rebecca). Lost was the only drama for me that fully kept my attention until the very end (but even it peaked in seasons 1-3). All that being said enter the best two new shows of last season: MODERN FAMILY and PARENTHOOD! If you aren’t watching these shows YOU SHOULD!!!! I know there are a lot of GLEE lovers out there and you have finally won my attention (I want to rent season 1) but it took me a while to have that desire. It looks like the cheesiest show on TV, almost like a High School Musical wanna be, BUT I am giving in and I will try to rent season 1.

Now let’s talk about Modern Family (Comedy) and Parenthood (extremely underrated dramedy).

WHY YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING:

MODERN FAMILY:

It just won an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. (Beating out The Office, 30 Rock, and YES EVEN GLEE).
Also the lovable character Cameron played by Eric Stonestreet won the Emmy for best Supporting Actor in a comedy series. All the other adult actors were also nominated for Emmy's except Ed O’Neil (who should have been nominated).
CAST CAST CAST – the cast is wonderful and the chemistry is simply brilliant.
The one-liners you will now have stacked up in your vocabulary is reason enough.
Laughing! The main reason you should watch this show is because it will make you laugh!

Seriously this show is extremely unrated, under watched, and under appreciated.
Loosely based on a great American CLASSIC - If you haven’t seen the movie you should!
I love the cast (Lauren Graham - Gilmore Girls, Peter Krause – Dirty Sexy Money, Monica Potter –ConAir Patch Adams, Head Over Heels, Dax Shepard – Punk’d, Craig T. Nelson – Coach, Mae Whitman – One Fine Day) Seriously you MUST see someone on that list you love!

Bored…

So I have been bored with blogging lately, mainly because there isn’t much on TV. I do love the Bachelor Pad and the 2 hours of trashy TV it provides me each week but I can’t bring myself to blog about it. (I will say that I think I like Jesse K out of everyone). SYTYCD Top 7

The Obsession continues…

There are a handful of people from SYTYCD past that I would call myself “obsessed” with and throughout this post you will see who I am talking about. 

1. Robert and Allison - Contemporary
I thought this dance was great it was the key “emotional routine” of the season. However I didn’t like it as much as the Travis routine last week. Maybe bc my favorites are Lauren and Kent! But I love all-star Allison!

2. Lauren and Billy - Jazz
Billy once again is not one of my favorites but I agree with the judges that Jazz fits him so well. I thought the cat routine last week and this shoe routine were his two best. For some reason he doesn’t look quite as feminine dancing Jazz!

3. Kent and Adechike – Contemporary
Kent once again stood out and I thought this showed off his technique. However this was definitely one of Adechike’s best performances!

4. Kent and Neil – Broadway
This dance was really good and Kent was great… I agree with Nigel he out danced Neil but Neil has never been one of my favorites. I loved the playfulness of the routine.

5. Jose and Dominic – B-Boying
Ok so I know that people have fallen in love with Jose and trust me I get it. He is absolutely precious! He is a sweet, kind hearted boy with a smile to make your heart melt. However at this point in the competition (the top 7) we really need to start considering his dance technique. Jose had the opportunity to shine this week in his own style (B Boy) and I disagree with the judges and thought he failed! Here is why: Like I said this is where he should shine and I think Dominic completely out shined him. Dominic brought more personality, he was smoother with his lines and honestly every single thing he did was better! I know I know I am obsessed but seriously watch both of them and you must agree with me, right?!?!? I know that Dominic is an all-star and it may be unfair to compare the two but like it was mentioned earlier in the night Kent out danced Neil and at this point in the competition you should be able to out dance the all-stars in your own genre. I am sorry I too love Jose but I think his time should be wrapping up! Please he didn't grab me when he "danced for his life" either.

6. Robert & Kathryn – Disco
Robert is good but not at Disco. He just didn’t bring any “Umf” to the dance.

7. Lauren & Mark –Tahitian
This dance is hard to judge because it didn’t look like there was that much to it but goodness Lauren can move her hips. And I ALWAYS enjoy Mark! (bonus points for the hip movement)

8. Billy & Anya – Jive
I may have ranked this low but I couldn’t remember this dance and I once again I am not a Billy fan.

9. Adechike & Anya – Salsa
Ballroom suffered this week with these two guys dancing it. I thought Anya looked like she was literally grabbing the boys hands and leading them. Plus all the lifts looked awkward!

10. Jose and Courtney – Broadway
Sorry but I thought the choreography was not entertaining. Maybe it was because Jose was lack luster but nothing about this dance appealed to me.

I wasn’t super disappointed with Ashley leaving…sucks that people keep getting hurt though it makes the competition less fun. Until next week….

I haven’t done this yet this season (I am off my game – maybe it is motherhood) so here it is….

My Rankings for last night’s SYTYCD routines:

1. Kent & Lauren – Contemporary

This was by FAR my favorite routine of the season and has found a place among my favorite dances ever!!! Are Kent & Lauren an item in real life?!?!? Sometimes the chemistry is so great that it makes us wonder…..maybe that just means they are that good!

2. Jose & Lauren – Contemporary

I have said it a 1,000 times- I am not a big fan of Lauren but I really enjoyed this dance and Jose did a great job!! They had me at the flip with the leg (loved that part).

3. Katee and Billy – Broadway

Not a big Billy fan (he is too feminine when he dances) but this style suited him perfectly and we all love Katee, right? My husband just kept asking, why wasn’t she one of the all stars to begin with???

4. Dominic & Ashley – Hip Hop

I heart Dominic! Ok so this was not an emotional routine but it had a few things that I love…Dominic, NappyTabs, Ludacris, booty poppin, and did I mention Dominic! Seriously, Ashley did a great job of pulling it off.

5. Lauren & Pasha – Cha Cha

I was telling Michael last night I usually am not a big fan of when guys dance like Pasha (looks girly) but I love me some Pasha! Lauren did a great job of holding her own! It was her night for sure!

6. Kent & Comfort – Hip Hop

I know there are some haters out there but I loved Kent in this routine. He did a great job of not cheesing it up too much (which I am sure was hard for him). He did look a little “J.T.ish” and who doesn’t like that!

7. Robert & Katherine – Jazz

GREAT CONCEPT!!! I was so excited to see this routine but was somewhat disappointed. I felt the two were off throughout the routine and didn’t hit the lifts. Robert is a good dancer but it wasn’t a great week for him.

8. Billy & Jose – African Jazz (couldn’t find the video)

Ok I know so many people love Billy and I just gripe about him but there were some shining moments for him in this routine. When Billy got low and contorted his body, it was crazy (crazy good). However I don’t think either showed great African Jazz. Billy looked like a contemporary dancer and Josie well looked tired! Neither of them hit it like I wanted them too (once again I can’t help but compare them to another couple – Heidi and Travis from season 2 – there African Pop dance blew me away).

I can’t find an individual video of Heidi and Travis pop routine but just fastforward to 3.12 on this video.

9. Adechike & Courtney – Jazz (can’t find this video)

This routine was a miss for me…Courtney is great but I didn’t even find her that entertaining during this routine. There was just not enough dancing period.

10. Adechike & “Alex” – Bollywood

Wow the judges were really hard on Adechike in this dance. I know I have him low but it is because there were some really great dances this week. Also it wasn’t necessary for Mia to keep mentioning how much she missed Alex after watching this. I was glad Cat chimed in with her two cents about the judges showing favoritism, they always do (I know it is the pot calling the kettle black). No one has even come close to Joshua and Katee’s bollywood routine in season 4!

11. Ashley & Robert – Quickstep (can’t find this video)

This might be the first week that Robert actually deserves to be in the bottom three. This routine wasn’t awful it just wasn’t memorable either – which is part of the reason it can be the kiss of death. I think Ashley will be fine because her other routine was good, plus it is always a good thing to be paired with one of the most beloved contestants of all time (Dominic). It was just an overall boring dance.

I hate to say it but I think Alex is going to be going home tonight because if his injury is as serious as they suspect then there is no way he can continue in the competition. I am sad to say it because he had some great routines this season. The bottom three will be: Adechike, Alex, and probably Robert again.

OMG - I don't ever say this I usually find it annoying but it seemed fitting with all the drama that has been going down lately!

I know I know it has been a long time so I am once again going to play catch up:

JAKE and VIENNA:

Did anyone else watch the meltdown of an interview last night?!?!?!? I must admit I was never a Jake or Vienna fan. I hated when they announced Jake to be the next Bachelor because I thought he was too “perfect” – Maybe it is just me but I am not into guys who always look perfect with their shirt tucked in just so! Anyways when the show started I found myself routing for the girls I liked to win his heart and in the end he picked Vienna who I truly disliked from the start. All that being said I am not an unbiased party I had my opinions before sitting down to watch this interview and boy was I taken back by it. I found myself routing for Vienna and feeling sorry for her. I know a lot of people out there are saying she just put on a good show but I disagree. After watching her on the Bachelor I don’t think she is that good of an actress and what I saw in the interview with Chris Harrison was true emotion. Ok so she interrupted him a lot (seriously who cares). Chris Harrison (aka ABC) obviously came in Team Jake and let him have two separate meetings with Chris alone therefore he had plenty of time to get all his emotions off his chest. I feel like Vienna wasn’t given the same treatment or respect that Jake was given. Vienna was questioned by Chris of her job (Jake wasn’t) and she was asked to apologize (Jake wasn’t). Jake showed his true colors and while my husband and I watched we couldn’t help but tell each other what a chauvinistic pig he seemed to be. I mean the two stories about the furniture and the GPS were so crazy – and he still backed up his reactions in both situations (at least have some remorse on how extremely rude you are). So what are your thoughts after watching the melt down last night??? Did your alliance change?

Ok so I may be the only one but I really liked Frank since the Hollywood date (that’s right since week 2 he has been my favorite). I am not sure what it is about him that drew me in, I think it is that he seems normal and fun. I actually really like all the guys that Ali has left at this point and usually I have someone that I strongly dislike however that is not the case. That being said I am not a huge Ali fan but she has done a few things this season that show flecks of class. Anyways if you don’t like spoilers then you should stop reading now. Last week after the preview for “upcoming episodes” of the bachelorette I was so sad with all the drama that seemed to go down with Frank. Silly me still was clinging on to hope that Ali and Frank would get through whatever major drama it was. However I went to the web and began searching for spoilers… and found that Frank and Ali won’t be fixing their relationship. Apparently Frank will meet up with his ex-girlfriend during the home town visit and find that is where his heart is and we get to see some on TV (not sure what parts). Tear….. I liked Frank! So now I think I am routing for Chris.

So You Think You Can Dance:

Is anyone else really enjoying the new format of SYTYCD?!?!? I love love love seeing the All Stars perform each week (I need more DOMINIC)! NEWS FLASH: Allison hurt her ribs dancing and won’t be dancing this week Katee Sheen will step in to take her place (YAY I LOVE KATEE). Also I can’t help but wonder if this means we might get MERCY at this week’s elimination show. However I do find myself each week more excited to see the all-stars then the current contestants….My favorites right now are Ashley and Kent. I really dislike Billy Bell, I am not 100% sure why, I think it is because he kind of reminds me of Benji (I know they dance completely different genres but there is something). I know there are a lot of Benji lovers out there but I felt like Travis was robbed! Speaking of Travis was anyone else SO ANGRY with the judges a couple weeks ago when they totally tore apart Travis for his “Jazz” routine. I know it did look more contemporary but I felt they could have handle it off screen. I hope that Travis comes back bc I always really enjoy his routines. TEAM TRAVIS!!! I am not super attached to anyone at this point and I haven’t been obsessed with any dances yet…There were a couple contemporary routines I really liked. The judges said that Alex and Twitch's Hip Hop was the best NappyTabs routine and maybe one of the best hip hop ever on SYTYCD, I STRONGLY disagree! My favorite NappyTabs and Hip Hop routines that were better than that dance:

CLARIFICATION:

I just prefer the emotional routines that draw me in...I think there are several routines that were clearly better over the years. But like I said mad props to Alex for a job well done!

3. American Idol:

Ok I have been awful about American Idol this season, for my past readers usually I list the order each week of how I rate the performances but I am bad and have been watching the performances and results all the same night (Wednesday) and haven’t had time to post my thoughts before the results. Anyways I will just give you a couple thoughts:

• I love Crystal!!! She is leaps and bounds above the rest of the group. I feel like each week she brings it and never disappoints. I like Lee’s voice and he seems sweet. Aaron gets on my nerves and I am ready for him to get the boot (he is too dorky). Big Mike seems fake and not very genuine, seriously who misses the birth of their first child. I am undecided about Siobohan some nights I like her and some nights I really don’t. I don’t like Casey well I guess I shouldn’t say I don’t like him but I really don’t like when guys hair look like they took longer to get ready then me. If a guy has long her let it be messy don’t buy rollers please!!! Seriously his hair drives me CRAZY!!!!!!!

• Shania Twain week next week! I just hope I hear Any Man of Mine (but I can’t imagine either of the girls singing it).

4. So You Think You Can Dance is mixing it up this season bringing in previous contestants to be partners with this year’s top 10.

You can tell that season 3 and season 4 were the best!!! Ok back to the rules. There will only be 10 contestants chosen from Hollywood week to move forward (I am assuming 5 boys and 5 girls). Each week the contestant will pull a photograph of one of the above listed “all-stars” and that will determine the style of dance for the week. This means that some of the all-stars will not be chosen each week. Also the all-stars will NOT be choreographing the routines just dancing. Holker, Gottleib, Haskell, Galiano, Obayomi, Kanemura and McCormick are all consider contemporary. Garnis and Kovalev are ballroom and Sandoval, Twitch, and Fedoke are considered Hip Hop. Some of the Contemporary dancers included Jazz, Broadway etc. that is why there is so many of them (click the link below to find out exactly what styles of dances each all-star will perform). Each week only the contestant will be judged and only one person will be sent home each week. The Premiere airs MAY 27th!!! I am excited to see some of my very favorites return!!!

5. Finally The Hills starts back Next Week , April 27th!

I am so glad it is the final season since it has not be nearly as good post LC (she will always be LC to me). I am excited that Lo “looks” to have a bigger role this season and most of all I am excited to see the encounter between Heidi and her mom post surgery. I feel so badly for her mom because at this point Heidi can’t take it back and so what do you do??? Can’t wait I will post more about that after the premiere. First the Boys....

I know that people are going to disagree with me but I think vocally the best males are Andrew, Lee and Alex. Here is my run down from Tuesday Night:

1. Lee - Lips of an Angel

So this wasn't the greatest vocal with some pitch problems but I love the tone of his voice.

2. Alex - Everybody Knows

Love love love the tone in his voice but he has to really work on his stage presence and confidence.

3. Andrew - You Give Me Something

I know the judges didn't like it much but I love his voice as well and think he is great. Can't wait to see him week after week.

4. Mike - This is a Man's World

I am riding the fence on Mike but his vocal this week was great.

5. Casey - I Don't Wanna Be

I really really don't like his hair, I say if you have long hair that make it manly not like you put it in rollers! However I thought this was a pretty good performance but a little Karaoke.

6. Toderick - What's Love Got to do with it?

He has a good voice but I agree with the judges he does to much and looks like he is trying too hard.

7. John - Gravity

I thought he sounded really good but just was somewhat boring.

8. Tim - Come on Get Higher

He was much better than last week and sounded pretty good but just doesn't seem to have the vocal chops that others have.

9. Aaron - My Girl

I really don't get why the judges like his voice so much he does too many runs and I think his voice is to old fashion.

10. Jermain - What's Going on?

Bad song choice, I think he can do better.

Top 10 Girls: (I know that I am partial to my favorites)

1. (Tie) Lilly "A Change is Gonna Come" and Crystal "Long as I Can See the Light"-

These two girls are great and I agree with Kara that they might change the face of American Idol (I hope more people like them try out). I think they are both the type of artists that I would want to go see at Workplay.

3. Katelyn - The Scientist

I thought she sounded great vocally and loved this version and her on the piano. I agree it was a little slow but overall a great performance!

4. Siobhan - Think

This girl has a big voice, I think she may need to start picking some more current songs though.

5. Paige Miles - Walkaway

She sounded good except the end but it was a good performance.

6. Lacey Brown - Kiss Me

I really like her voice and hope she is able to find a better song that fits her vocals and shows off her tone.

7. Didi - I agree with the judges that this song was not a great fit for her vocals but she did sound good, just didn't show off her strengths.

8. Katie - Put Your Records On

I thought she sounded good but it was forgettable.

9. Michelle - Arms Wide Open

I hated this song choice and what she did to it!

10. Haeley- The Climb

Sorry but I thought it was really pitchy and I just don't "love" her like America does. I think the smiling ALL the time has to go.

Ranking the Top 12 Girls

This is just my opinion of the girls last night, but overall I think they did not perform well. There were so many girls that I was excited about and most fell below what I expected. Here is how I would rank the performances from last night:

12. Haeley Vaughn- I Wanna Hold Your Hand

I thought she was very off key for majority of the song and I agree with Simon about her smiling through the entire song. Overall not good, I think she has slowly gone down hill after her first audition.

11. Ashley Rodriguez- Happy

Once again I thought Ashley was off key and I haven't been impressed with her yet.

10. Janell Wheeler- What About Love

I really like Janell and think she has a cool tone to her voice but I hated this song choice for her. Janell has more of a "Brooke White" voice and Heart is definitely more of a "Carly Smithson" song. I think it was way to big for her vocal range. I was very disappointed.

9. Paige Miles- All Right Now

I thought Paige did well on the BIG vocal parts but on the melody her voice didn't sound smooth. We don't know anything about her and she was first so it is possible that she could be in danger.

8. Lacey Brown- Landslide

I really like Lacey's tone but once again I hated this song choice. I love the Dixie Chicks version of this song and it is a great song but just doesn't fit her voice. I hope she stays around because I really like her. Unfortunately she is at the bottom of a lot of online ranking lists so she could be in danger.

7. Katie Stevens- Feeling Good

Katie has a big voice and is clearly an early favorite of the judges. I actually thought she sounded good but it was a "old" song for a young girl but they say that every year.

6. Michelle Delamor- Falling

For taking on an Alicia Keys song I thought Michelle did a great job. When she said she was singing Falling I was worried but Alicia is one of the best from this generation and she has a big voice. I thought Michelle did a great job and changed it up enough to fit her voice.

5. Siobhan Magnus- Wicked Games

I wasn't a huge fan of this song choice but she sang it really well. Siobhan was someone I was excited to see bc she is unique and her last audition really caught me off guard. I can't wait to hear more from her.

4. Didi Benami- The Way I Am

I loved her voice on this song but I didn't think she did anything that WOWed us. She sounded great but it seemed to be very easy.

3. Crystal Bowersox- Hand in My Pocket

I love her voice and her style. She is so unique to the show and I love seeing different styles on American Idol. She didn't WOW us just like Didi but I love her voice and this song so for me it was a great mix.

2. Katelyn Epperly- Oh Darling

When she made it to the top 12 I really didn't think she deserved to be in the top 12 but I was pleasantly surprised. She did have great control and her voice sounded smooth through out the entire song.

1. Lilly Scott- Fixing a Hole

Loved loved loved her voice on this song. I am not a big Beatles person (I know it is a sin) so I am not really familiar with the original but I know Beatles fans probably hated it. I think Lilly is great and completely original and confident in who she is, love her!

American Idol Season 9

American Idol watchers get ready because the new season begins tonight!!! This will be the start of Simon Cowell's last season, not sure how the show will go on with out him but for now he is still here.

I have a love/hate relationship with the auditions and the audition process. It seems this time every year I fall in love with someone that doesn't make it into the top 12. Examples being: Josiah Lemming and Sundance Head (boy I really liked both of them). Anyways I also get bored during this part watching the awful singers perform over and over. However this season their seem to be some great judges filling in during the audition process until Ellen takes her seat. Some of the judges we will see during the auditions: Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, Shania Twain, Neil Patrick Harris, Joe Jonas, Mary J. Blige and starting us off tonight Victoria Beckham (who I find so entertaining).

Well it has been a LONG time since I have posted anything on here and I am sorry for that. I am going to try to do better. Anyways here are a couple quick posts about what is going on in the TV world:

The Bachelor: I always get sucked in!

Well as most of you know The Bachelor started back this past Monday night and I promised I wouldn’t watch it bc frankly I find Jake, the new bachelor, to be quite the dull dud but I got sucked in once again. I taped it and watched almost the entire episode in fast forward…don’t worry I stopped to see a girl fall face forward into Jake’s arm, one change into a flight attendant outfit, one give out candy to the girls “going home”, one crack an awful joke about Jake landing his plane on her uhmm “landing strip” and finally the one girl melt down bc she didn’t have one on one time yet. However I still finished the two hour episode in less than one hour and fully proud of myself that I had accomplished that, it happened….they sucked me in. As the show was coming to a close and I found myself not attached to anyone it happened…they showed the preview for what’s coming up this season on “The Bachelor” and that was it, once again they did a great job of making it look like the most DRAMATIC season yet. Oh goodness now I have to know who has the affair with a producer and why Jake gets so mad and knocks the chair over refusing to send someone home…I MUST KNOW THE ANSWERS…. So here we go another season of The Bachelor.

Oh and if you didn’t notice I refuse to call it “The Bachelor on the Wings of Love” that is stupid!

The 100th episode:

Katie Holmes performance was over hyped and I hate that she lip-synched but she does have some talent (I couldn’t help but see Joey Potter up there performing and not “Katie”)

Janette was super talented and I know people were really sad she got sent home but something about her rubbed me wrong…maybe she was too cheesy or the fact that she was really hyped up, not sure but I was fine with seeing her leave. It was Jason’s time to go just because he has been in the bottom week after week.

I am now officially on team Jeanine (her solo this week rocked) but I still think that if any of the top 6 from last season were on this season they would be my favorite!

WADE ROBSON ROCKS MY FACE OFF!!!! I have always loved Wade and even though this season his dances haven’t been as great (I believe because of the dancers) he is still one of the best if not the best out there! When he danced Ramalama with the group I had to rewind it like 15 times, loved it. Shout out to my boy Ivan who made an appearance in the dance, the first person I really liked on SYTYCD!

The Bachelorette (The Men Tell All and The Finale):

I thought the boys were way too hard on Jake but I also do think Jake is WAY to straight laced to be the next Bachelor (however I felt that way about Jason).

I hated that Wes wasn’t back to get slammed on but the rumor is he said he didn’t want to come and then he called some guys and made sure they would back him. Then he called the producers back and said he would come on and they decided not to let him come back!

The guys looked really petty for most of the show and even though I was not a Juan fan I found myself siding with him through his interrogation.

Jillian, Jillian, Jillian, well she gets on my nerves and I am not going to say mean things but I think it is fine she ended up with Ed. My favorite by far was Reid and I think he can do so much better but I hate that he came back and made his proclamation and got slammed. I would love for Reid to be the next Bachelor but do we really think he would be a good one??? He wouldn’t be able to share any real emotions (but I guess they aren’t suppose to anyways).

Kiptyn would probably be the best choice for the next Bachelor, if he wanted to do it…do you think he would??

After the Rose is tonight and I bet the crowd is going to be loving some Reid! Also Melissa will be back and she is for sure a fan favorite.

Grey’s Anatomy:

TR Knight:

Personally I think he is fool for leaving, this show gave him his start and he should follow through for the fans. I remember when they interviewed Katie Holmes while she was doing Dawson’s Creek and she started to get really big and do movies and such. They asked her if she would leave Dawson’s, she said of course not that Dawson’s is the reason why she is able to do movies now and she doesn’t want to disappoint the fans or creators of Dawson’s. She owed it to the show to finish the story. I think it is respectable to have that attitude.

Shonda asked TR to come back to film what sounded like a great episode to help give George some closure and he refused. The episode was going to be a flashback to what happened when George left the hospital that day…when he heroically jumped in front of the bus. TR just wants to move on and not come back…so sad for the fans and the writers.

I definitely don’t wish TR bad but it seems like he may have burned some bridges, however I think everyone felt the same way when George Clooney left ER

Shonda said she is getting story lines prepared for it everyone leaves the show, I guess it could do like ER and eventually have an entirely new cast and probably different fan base. If it does go on as long as ER then it will likely cycle out the original cast members. Shonda said atleast she has Lexie so if Meredith leaves there is still a Grey for Grey’s Anatomy.

SYTYCD: Top 8

Well I am sure many of you were as sad as I was last night when I sat down on my sofa, bowl of ice cream in hand and ready to watch SYTYCD with guest host Ellen (she is one of my favorites) and all of the sudden it was interrupted by Obama. Don’t get me wrong I know this stuff is important and all but I really don’t want them to interrupt SYTYCD...pick another show please! The other interesting thing is that it is a voting show and “we” didn’t get to see half the dances which seems like it is a little unfair, right?!?!?! Well I am going to move on to the four dances I did see:

Two of my favorite dances so far this season were on last night’s episode: Brandon & Jeanine’s pop jazz and Melissa and Ade’s contemporary piece. The other two dances I saw were ok nothing great (Janette and Evan Rumba and Kayla and Jason’s hip hop).

Brandon and Jeanine Pop Jazz:

First of all I must mention Laurie Ann as a new choreographer for the show, so excited! Laurie Ann is the choreographer from Making the Band and rocks my face off! She also famously got in a fight with P-diddy and got fired (and brought back later)….oh the drama. Enough about her…the dance was great! The first time through I watch Jeanine and she did a wonderful job and was very powerful the second time through I watched Brandon (I am NOT a Brandon fan AT ALL) and he did AMAZING!! Brandon’s performance was so powerful, I loved watching the dance twice (who am I kidding, I watched it more than that).

Melissa and Ade Contemporary:

We all know that this dance emotionally was incredible and very moving. The story behind it was powerful however if it wasn’t danced right I don’t think we would have felt it as much. Melissa did a great job portraying someone who is fighting but is tired and has FULL trust in her friend to lift her up and be her strength. Ade did a tremendous job being there and being Melissa’s strength and support. I bet this dance will definitely be up for an Emmy next year.

As far as solo’s go no one’s stood out to be except Jeanine. I loved some of the “new” moves she put in there; it almost looked like Phillip taught her a few things. ;)

Who do I think is going home?

Before the performances last night I would have said I wanted to see Melissa and Brandon leave (just bc they rub me wrong). Given the fact they were in my two favorite dances I would hate to see them go yet. I would like to see Janette go but I am not sure about the boy I probably wouldn’t be really sad about any of them leaving. I think that Kayla might go though.

My performance rankings from last night:

1. Jeanine & Jason: Contemporary

This might very well be my favorite dance from the season (go Travis). It definitely helps that Travis choreographed it because I wanted him to win Season 2 so bad! Back to the dance I thought they did wonderful and it was great to see Jeanine in her element. Did anyone else feel like we were interrupting something at the end??? Jason seems to have a VERY close connection to his partners....Hhmmmm

2. Brandon and Melissa: Broadway

I thought they both technically are probably the two best in the competition (maybe Kayla too) but there personalities don't shine very bright. I thought this dance was really good and the took on the characters well.

3. Evan and Kayla: Viennese Waltz

I don't know much about ballroom technically speaking but i know what i enjoy watching. I enjoyed watching these two and I thought it flowed really well. I was also very impressed with Evan's strength and as always Kayla's technique and "lines" are great. I think Evan's personality will keep him around another week for sure.

4. Ade and Janette: Hip Hop

The only thing I can say is I was NOT impressed! It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either just mediocre and not even close to one of the dances I will remember from the season.

5. Randy and Kupono: Paso Doble

Kupono is NOT very strong at all...It is weird to watch someone Evan's size throw around the girl and then Kupono really struggles. I think Kupono could be in trouble tonight but I think Randi's personality will save her for sure!

Guys Group Dance and Girls Group Dance:

Talk about power dances!! Both dances had me gasping for breath just watching. I think the girls did a better job staying together and making it look smooth but when you don't have counts just rhythm I am sure that is difficult. Props to everyone on these dances!

At this point it is not just about who is dancing great but who America loves and feels like they know. Last season the top 10 were: Joshua, Katee, Twitch, Kherington, Courtney, Will, Gev, Comfort, Chelsie and Mark. Will was the judges favorite and the one that had the "talent" but he only made it to the top 8! The top 6 were all people that their personalities shined and WE all loved! This season there aren't as many personalities that we know and so Evan and Randi probably will stick around a bit because they are the only ones we REALLY know at all (and I still don't feel like we have seen that much).

BORED!!

As many of you may have noticed I have not been posting much lately. The reason why??? I AM BORED, bored with TV in general right now.

SYTYCD has been very disappointing this season, I am not attached to anyone and still believe that the top 10 dances from last season could beat the best dance from this season which in my opinion is probably the 1st hip-hop routine by Phillip and Jeanine or the contemporary routine last week by Kupano and Kayla. I think that Mercy, Bleeding Love, No Air, Courtney and Mark’s Jazz routine and pretty much any other Joshua and Katie routine is better than those two dances from this season. What do you think of this season??? Who is your favorite???

The next show that has been boring to me is the Bachelorette…it has had some dramatic moments that have been fun to watch but nothing that I have wanted to spend time writing about. We all hate Wes and think he is a loser (no one buy his music). I think Jillian is annoying and don’t really care who she ends up with. I think Ed, Reid, Kiptyn, and Jesse are all too good for Jillian (yes I know Jesse is gone). I think it is possible that one of those guys will be the next Bachelor but it is also a possibility that has been floating around online that Jake could take the role. Many of you have been asking me about the Bachelor and why I haven't been posting but it is because I just don't care that much right now. I don't know about ya'll but I am ready for Fall TV!!!

Hilary Duff is going to play Vanessa's roommate this coming season on Gossip Girl. (she is set to appear on several episodes.)

I am not going to put each youtube on here because frankly it takes a while and I don’t have a lot of time today! Here are my thoughts about each dance in the order that they ranked:

1. Randi & Evan – Contemporary

So everyone keeps saying the dancers this year are some of the best but I think I am going to have to disagree. This time last year I already had at least 4 or 5 dances that I loved and wanted to watch over and over…that is not the case this year. I thought this dance was really good but not AMAZING… At this point in the game the dance I rank number one should be amazing. Mia Michael’s always comes up with interesting themes for her dances and always sucks us in. I thought Randi and Evan danced this really well but agree with Nigel that the moves were simplistic for Mia. This means Mia probably dumbed it down some not that she couldn’t choreograph a more complex routine. I would give it 8.5 out of 10!

2. Melissa & Ade – Rumba

These two were sexy last night!!! I thought they did very well…still not as impressive as in years past. I would give it 8.25 out of 10; it was a very close second.

3. Kayla & Kapuno – Viennese Waltz

What a strong new partnership. I thought these two really melded well together…there lines looked good to me (not a professional). I would give them 8 out of 10.

4. Phillip & Jeanine – Broadway

I thought this Broadway routine was pretty good! I thought they both preformed it well. I definitely did think Jeanine’s performance was better but overall they both did well. However thinking about Courtney and Gev’s and Joshua & Katie’s Broadway routines last season it didn’t even compare.

This is an awful youtube but I couldn’t resist sharing the Broadway number by Joshua and Katee last year in the top 18!! I would have given it 9.5 out of 10!!

5. Brandon & Janette – Hip Hop

Compared to several hip hop dances in the past this one was mediocre. Brandon was actually a really good hip hopper but Janette was weird to watch. I give it 5 out of 10!

6. Caitlin & Jason – Paso Doble

I feel as if I was watching a completely different dance than the judges. Caitlin was completely fumbling all over the place and I didn’t feel a connection at all! I felt like I could see them counting and focusing so hard. Also I feel like Jason is a much better dancer then Caitlin yet each week she gets high praises and he gets the shaft! I would give 4.5 out of 10!

7. Vitolio & Auska – Jazz

I feel bad for them, Auska just really isn’t very good in other styles, and she looks so uncomfortable. I have a feeling if they are in the bottom three she will be sent home. I would give it 4 out of 10.

8. Carla & Jonathan – Hip Hop

It must be a curse to be in the top spot one week because so far whoever makes number one immediately falls to last place on my list the next week. Look out Randi and Evan fans!?!?!?! I was so looking forward to Carla doing hip hop and the whole thing was VERY underwhelming. What a boring routine and what a boring performance. I really didn’t take anything good out of it, seriously thought I would see that at a local dance recital. Giving it 3 out of 10!

Best TV Shows EVER!

I think that in each decade there is one show that should be ranked higher just on the top 5! Friends should be higher not sure where but definitely above Buffy. Lastly I was surprised that M.A.S.H was ranked number 3 even though the two above it are huge so maybe those three should be a three way tie!

I am ranking the couples by “couple” it depends on how well the couple does as a whole and also the chemistry etc. Let’s just get down to the ranking.

1. Karla & Jonathan – Contemporary
The chemistry these two had was great and believable. I loved all the lifts and intricate moves, they really put on a great performance.

2. Auska & Vitolio- Waltz
I was so glad these two did so well this week. I was so disappointed after last week’s Broadway number and this week they did not disappoint. I thought they really drew us in to the dance and made me love this ballroom number. I felt their emotions and thought it was beautiful.

3. Brandon & Jeanette – Disco
This was one of the first disco dances that I can really remembering liking. I thought the dance was really good and looked very fast and very hard!

4. Max & Kayla – Pop Jazz
This dance that Brian created was wonderful. I really enjoyed the style and unique moves. If I were judging on individual performances then Kayla may have taken number 1, she was GREAT! However I think Max looked awkward and I didn’t feel a connection throughout the entire performance. It was still very entertaining.

5. Melissa and Ade – Jazz
Sonja’s dances are always kind of “dirty” for a lack of a better word. I loved her Jazz piece last year by Mark & Courtney. I thought Ade did really well and was believable, Melissa however was not. I didn’t think she got “dirty” enough. In my opinion Melissa looked like a ballerina trying to do Jazz.

6. Randi & Evan – Jive
I actually enjoyed this dance while watching it but the reason it is ranked so low is because it wasn’t memorable and it wasn’t one of the ones I wanted to go back and watch again. I love these two and think they will go far in the competition but there Jazz routine last week was much better!

7. Caitlin and Jason- Hip Hop
I was so excited that these two got a Shane Sparks emotional routine and then they were so mediocre. Caitlin was really cheesy and didn’t look hip hop at all. Also during the first half of the dance, pretty much until her dance break, she just walks around not doing any dance moves. Every week the moves in her performances that impress me the most are the gymnastic moves which I am starting to wonder if that is all she has?!?!?

8. Kupono & Ashley – Hip Hop
I agreed with Lil C that Ashley actually did a pretty good job and looked more “hip-hop” then I expected her to. I also thought she hit all the moves better than Kupono but either way this wouldn’t have been one of my favorites this week.

9. Phillip & Jeanine- Tango
These two dropped from first to last over the course of one week. Last week Phillip was in his element with hip hop and this week he had one of the hardest styles tango. I thought the two looked uncomfortable and like they were counting out the entire dance (especially Phillip). It did not flow well and I totally noticed Phillips facial expressions when he was lifting Jeanine, he has such an animated face he will have to work on that. I am not worried about these two though I think America loves Phillip.

George is Out!

TR Knight “George” is officially gone according to “a source”.

I am very sad by this news and I am especially disappointed if TR did indeed said “He’s had enough with Shonda and ABC”. I am NOT a big fan when actors turn their back on the show that gave them their start. They need to at least have some respect for the show and its creator. The final episode of Grey’s this season was a great one!! We were left not knowing if George “John Doe” would live or die and only the characters on the show knew it was George in the last moments….I was really hoping he would come back. I knew that this was a probability but I hate to hear that it is true.

I have heard that next season will jump forward several months so it is possible that George will not die but actually recover and maybe he was drafted to the army. Who knows what Shonda will do ?!?!?

SYTYCD Top 20:

After last night’s episode I was disappointed and now watching all the dances back I don’t think it was the talent or performances that disappointed me as much as just not feeling connected with many of the dancers (obviously because all the ones we got to know got CUT). It will come!

1. Phillip and Jeanine – Hip hop

I will admit the first time I watched this I didn’t like it as much as I do now. I thought the couple lacked chemistry but once I went back and watched it again I liked it and by the 4th or 5th time I LOVE D it. This was a lucky draw by Phillip but I am sure glad he started off with hip hop!

2. Melissa and Ade – Contemporary

I really liked this dance and thought the lifts throughout the dance were amazing. I also felt a real connection between the two.

3. Ashley and Kupono – Jazz

This was another routine that I had to watch back a couple times. The first time I watched it I missed the intro with the story line. The next time I watched it I understood what the story was about and I felt it more. This was not one of my favorites by Wade Robson and was a little disappointed with this routine. However I think the dancers sold what they were given and danced it well.

4. Randi and Evan – Jazz

I really like both of them and think they will do well in the competition. I thought this dance was great however I thought this dance looked more contemporary than Jazz, except for the Jazz hands here and there but overall I liked it!

5. Kayla and Max- Samba

I thought this dance was good and they hit everything well. I thought Max looked somewhat uninterested and almost like he was a teacher dancing with a student. I thought she did very well but still it wasn’t the best of the night. I thought they got a little “over-praised” after the routine.

6. Caitlin and Jason – Bollywood

On pure entertainment they probably ranked number one, the group I was with played this routine back several times to just be “entertained”. They didn’t seem together for the majority of the routine. Caitlin looked very out of her element and didn’t sell the style well. I thought Jason did a little better but still it wasn’t nearly what we saw last season.

The thing with Bollywood is that some of the moves can look kind of silly if you don’t hit it just right and hit it hard. When Caitlin and Jason did Bollywood last night there were parts that were really good but overall it came off looking silly. I realize this style is probably much harder and takes incredible strength but we were spoiled last season with Joshua and Katee performing this style, take a look at the video below and see how strong they were and how TOGETHER everything looks. Now go back and watch Caitlin and Jason and I am pretty sure you will be able to see why I was disappointed.

They did a good job with the moves I guess but it was boring! It could be that this early in the season it is hard to sell a dance like this because we aren’t really “routing” for them yet. Once we fall in love with performers we probably love the dances like the foxtrot and waltz more (does that make sense).

9. Parris and Tony – Hip Hop

Every time Tabitha and Napoleon do two dances on one night one is more emotional and the other just a dance. I never have liked one of theirs that isn’t emotional. Parris surprisingly really out shined Tony throughout this dance and that is not a good sign for Tony. This is supposed to be Tony’s strong suit and he did not do very good. I was disappointed that he made it through over other probably much more talented “hip hoppers” and last night didn’t change my mind.

10. Asuka and Vitolio – Broadway

I am not going to lie I was really bored during this routine it was a combination of the music, the dance and the performance. It was not good but I think that these are two of the strongest dancers in the competition so even if they are in the bottom three I think they will “dance for their life” and be SAFE.

So You Think You Can Dance:

I don’t even know where to start….I am so disappointed with this season so far, last night was the worst! Let me take a few minutes to explain why. We have only gotten to know a few dancers this season with them showing the auditions and following up with them and MOST of the ones we have gotten to know have already been CUT!!!! I am so disappointed that Natalie was cut last night and am still somewhat in shock….I think there must have been something else that happened. I seriously wanted to stop watching when they sent Natalie packing after ONE bad routine and they let Gabi Rojas keep sticking around one bad routine after another… WHY DO THEY LET CERTAIN PEOPLE HAVE SECOND CHANCES??? I was so confused why people like Gabi, Caitlin, Tony, and Silky got the opportunities to “dance for their life” or redo a routine when someone like Natalie who is probably better than most of them, they KNOW this since they almost picked her for the top 20 last season, messed up once and went home. I am still bewildered by the elimination. Ok so now let’s move off that soap box and take a look at the others that we got o know during audition round:

Natalie Reid – Katee’s roommate from last season who was number 11 out of the girls. CUT

“Silky” – The taper from Memphis that also could bust a move. CUT

Nobuya Nagahama – The cute popper that couldn't speak great English. CUT

Megan Kinney – One of the two sisters. CUT

Bianca Revels – The “best” girl tapper that didn’t make it last season . CUT

Gabi Rojas – The “best” and most unique soloist. CUT

Anna Dunn – Her dad committed suicide, she “moved her head to much” and Lil C told her to use her tragedy to be a better dancer. CUT

Mario Flake – The cop from Memphis. CUT

Priscilla Marrero – Injured when she was 15 but keeps dancing and says “she is dancer” the judges raved about her in her first audition. CUT

Lauren and Lydia Guerra – The twin sisters that “finish each other’s sentences” and they scared them that they both wouldn’t make it to Vegas but they did. CUT

Talia Rickards – Husband was killed in a motorcycle accident a year earlier. CUT

Travis Prokop – The coach’s son… CUT

Sammy Ramirez – The wrestler that was trained by the gang member that is now in prison. CUT

Arielle Coker – Mother in bad car accident and still recovering. Also know as partner to Phillip Chbeeb. CUT

Mike's Top 10 Tear Jerkers

I was called out in the comments of SB's last blog entry so I figured I would contribute my own Top 10 Tear Jerker Movies. So here we go, everyone gets to see the softer side of Michael. Please keep in mind that I tend to be a little more on the emotional side of things...Here we go!

Alright you ask and you shall receive. Sarah Beth will tell you that I am a pretty big winer when it comes to Movies and even some TV. I will give you a rough Top10.

TOP 10 TEAR JERKERS:

10. Steel Magnolias - It had been a while since I had seen this but it came on the other day. I turned it on right when Sally Field is at the grave site with her friends. WOW! Sally Field rocked my world with this emotional scene.

9. House of Sand and Fog- This has probably one of the saddest most horrible scenes ever. There is not a big emotional climax leading up to the scene. The scen more or less just comes up and hits you smack in the face. Not a great movie at all but one hell of a sad ending. I couldn't find a video to go with this one and I am kind of glad. This was probably the most depressing of any of the movies on this list and maybe the most depressing movie of all time...

8. My Girl- my wife had to remind me but when she did it was a no brainer...I can remember watching this one with my family. We all made fun of how much my mom was crying in the movie. Little did I know that I would soon follow in her ways of crying during movies...

7. Million Dollar Baby - Who would have guessed that I would be crying through a scene with Clint Eastwood and a very manly Hilary Swank? This is the emotional climax type of tear jerker.

Great story leads up to a beautiful tear jerker scene.

6. Pursuit of Happyness - The scene where they sleep in the bathroom. Anyone with any type of father figure must get teared up right here. A father who would do anything for his child...

5. Armageddon - You go from what appears to be the end of a romantic relationship to one of the most dramatic ways for a father to tell his daughters boyfriend that I approve of you. And wait, I will die in your place...

4. I am Sam - Here we go folks. Sean Penn is all I have to say about this. Also, give the man his freaking daughter already. Amazing!

3. The Notebook - That's right. I said it. I am not ashamed to admit it. I will go as far as saying that it is the greatest love story ever told. I love the scene in the rain where he tells her that he wrote her everyday for a whole year but...the scene that took the cake for me is when she has a lapse where she remembers Noah and they dance. She comes out of it fairly quickly and begins to panic...tears.....

2. Rudy - Come on folks. This is the greatest sports story of all time. When the kid finally gets in with the crowd, players, coaches, etc. all chanting his name. His father and brother in the stands and his best friend from the maintenance crew in attendance. He not only gets in but he makes a play. How can you possibly hold back the tears...Also, did I mention that it is a true story?

1. Glory - One line says it all..."Give em hell '54!" This all black regiment walks past the all white regiment to the front line to go to the front lines of one the battles that helped to turn the Civil War. At the end of the movie as the music plays in the background....tears will flow. Again, based on a true story. FYI...my favorite movie of all time. So many good actors. I should also mention the scene with Denzel being beat by a whip...WOWZERS! Amazing movie....Here are a few of my favorite scenes from the movie. I just watched them before I posted and teared up at my desk...

Old Yeller - great movie and very sad. Too many newer better movies that kept it from being on the list. Probably the saddest movie that I remember from my childhood.

Step Mom - Great story but kind of cheesy movie. Still made me cry...

Dead Man Walking - this movie is sad for so many reasons. It might be one of the most compelling movies that I have ever seen. Just saw it this past year even though it has been out for quite some time now.

Shawshank Redemption - One of my favorite movies of all time but it just wasn't enough of a tear jerker.

New Characters??

One Tree Hill:
After the loss of two main characters on OTH (Lucas & Peyton) the producers are trying to fill the void by adding new characters. We already discussed three new characters being brought to the cast and now they are in talks with 90210 vet Brian Austin Green. Brian was staring in Terminator but since it got canceled his schedule seems to be open however will he want to return to a teen soap drama? I know the cast is no longer teens but I still put it in that category. Brian would be cast playing Nathan’s sports agent, Clayton…interesting (I wonder if this will cause any bumps in Haley & Nathan since he is an attractive guy).

What do you think of the potential casting of Brian Austin Green?

Grey’s Anatomy:

Many people thought that the character George might live on just in a different body. Meaning since TR Knight was thought to be leaving the show his character might just have plastic surgery and a new actor would play the role. Producer Shonda Rhimes has come out and said that is ridiculous and NOT happening. The question still at hand is will George return to Seattle Grace?

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

Well my husband and me did the unthinkable and added a new show to our list this past weekend. Several of our friends have been trying to get us to watch Friday Night Lights and we finally folded. Friday night I went to blockbuster to rent season 1 and they didn’t carry it, so I went to Hollywood video (knowing full well since blockbuster didn’t have it they wouldn’t have it) and then we decided to go to Wal-Mart to see how much it was to purchase season 1 and it was only $14.99!!! So we bought season 1 and 2 and went home and got started. We finished 8 episodes this weekend and are well on our way to being hooked.

We aren’t quite to the point of encouraging others to watch it just yet…some shows we immediately encourage others to watch such as Lost and Prison Break (if you haven’t seen either of those shows you should watch them for sure)!

Anyways a couple of thoughts right out of the gate: (DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WATCH THE SHOW)

The Taylor family seems pretty solid, I love the dynamic between all of them. I love how Tami puts Eric in his place and her quick wit. I also love the interactions between daughter and parents. They seem like the real substance of the show which is probably good since the students will slowly graduate right?!?!?

Next Michael and I are having a hard time digesting the relationship between Lyla, Tim, and Jason. The whole situation makes us want to stop watching but we are pressing on! Seriously though Jason has just been paralyzed and his best friend sleeps with his girlfriend. Seriously?!?!? However I know this makes for good television and this could be somewhat realistic since the two may be leaning on each other for comfort and support, however it is very difficult to watch unfold.

Buddy Garrity – I really despise his character I am well aware that there are boosters out there that have a lot of control over high school sports and care that much about it but I HATE watching it! I honestly want to fast-forward every scene he is in!! I really want him off the show ASAP but Michael keeps telling me he thinks he will be around for a while, unfortunately I think he is right. Ugh!

So far I love Matt Saracen he has such a sweet innocence about him that really draws you in, dare I say a “Seth Cowen” vibe. I hope he stays sweet and bashful even though he has become QB1. I also really like Julie Taylor and have already commented on the relationship she has with her parents. I am super excited that her and Matt are about to go on a date I see it somewhat like Summer and Seth (I know it is nothing like the OC but that couple could be similar). I must also comment that she is such a bad dancer I am not sure why they made that her passion, but it is entertaining to watch.

My husband loves Grandma Saracen, he thinks she is funny. I am somewhat indifferent to her. Other characters I haven’t decided on Smash (right now I don’t think I like him), Tyra (I almost feel sorry for her), Landry and Billy Riggins.

I mentioned early Lyla, Tim and Jason but let me talk a little more about their characters:

Lyla – She is way too perky for my liking but she is starting to mellow out some, the first few episodes I really wanted to through something at her. My opinion of her will probably change a lot in the next few episodes and how she chooses to handle the situation with Jason and Tim now that Jason found out. Plus it is always a negative thing to have Buddy as your father, gross!

Jason – Funny thing is at first I really didn’t like him, I guess I thought they were making him out to be the “jock” of the show but then shortly after that I recognized something bad was going to happen to him. Ofcourse after the accident I felt so bad for him and I have been Team STREET ever since. Also I admire the way he has handle everything (yes I realize it is a TV character). His story line also parallel’s Remember the Titans a little too closely for my liking.

Tim – Ok so he is the hardest for me because I have so many mixed feelings about him… At first he was the character I was most drawn towards (I always gravitate for the bad boys- Sawyer, Chuck, Pacey, Alex) but then we he sleep with his best friends girl it was so hard for me to feel for him. I really do feel badly for him because of his family situation and because the one person he counted on, Jason, got hurt but when he didn’t go to the hospital for so long that made me so angry. I know he was probably just wishing it didn’t happen and when he went to the hospital it made it real BUT that is selfish because Jason has to deal with it and having his best friend there would have probably helped him! Anyways the verdict is still out on Tim for me.

Overall I am enjoying the show not quite as die hard yet as fellow viewers but I probably will get there it just depends on how the story lines unfold.

**Also how unrealistic is it that Matt had like never thrown the ball with the team or anything, I am pretty sure they have some sort of back-up quarterback. Of course most teams don’t anticipate their player getting paralyzed but you would anticipate a broken ankle or torn ACL right?!?!?

So You Think You Can Dance:

Get excited because one of the greatest shows on TV starts TONIGHT!!! The audition rounds start tonight, which is fun to see all the unique styles come out and showcase their talents but much like American Idol the audition rounds get old fast and it is much more fun once they pick the top 12.

It seems every year that I have watched the show it has gotten better and better. I first started watching in Season 2 (thanks to a friend insisting that I watch it) and fell in love with Ivan, Allison, Heidi, and Travis. One of my all time favorite routines is the park bench (Travis & Heidi) along with the umbrella dance (Ivan & Allison).

Season 3 was even better with Dominic and Sabra (I fell in love them at the very beginning and their chemistry was amazing). I also loved Neil, Hok and Jaime. Some of my favorite dances from that season were the hip hop routine with Dom and Sabra, the hummingbird (Jaime and Hok), the board room dance (Sabra and Neil) and the Tango with Neil and Sabra.

Season 4 was the best season yet with such amazing routines all season long. I loved so many of the routines. Season 4 I loved Joshua, Katee, Chelsea, Mark, Twitch, Gev and Courtney. Pretty much any routine that Joshua and Katee did was wonderful. See my previous post about the show for my favorite dances from last season.

Here is one last fun clip to watch of Wade Robson's "Waiting on the World to Change" performed by all 10 final contestants. It was a controversial dance that I believe is the reason Wade isn't choreographing as much on the show anymore...too bad bc he came up with some of the best dances of all time.

The Bachelorette:

The Bachelorette started on Monday which many believe may have been the reason Melissa didn’t win the finale of Dancing with the Stars because all her voters were tuned into The Bachelorette rather then DWTS. Jillian the newest Bachelorette met her 30 Bachelors (first time the additional 5 have been added) and there seem to be a couple keepers among the bunch. My early favorites are Jesse, Kiptyn, and Jake (the Pilot). Judging by the preview for this season there should be a lot of drama to draw in viewers.

Last season when Jason dumped Melissa on live TV many viewers said they were done with the show for good. How many of you stuck to it and aren’t watching this season??? It was a great ploy by ABC to have one of the girls Jason “broke their heart” as the Bachelorette bc those who walked away hating Jason probably felt for the girls he didn’t pick.

Kris Wins!! I had written this entire post on who will win the show but I figured you may not want to read it after we already know who won! I am very excited that Kris pulled the upset last night and walked away the new Idol. I have alot of respect for both of their talent and the way the have presented themselves in interviews thus far. It seems the two had been close given they were roommates throughout the season.

Highlights of the Finale:

Bikini Girl Faces off Against Kara again: Kara won this hands down...I was so excited to see her blow BG out of the water. Also did anyone else think Kara had a better bikini body than Katrina?

Norman Gentle "Nick Mitchell" performs again: Norman Gentle provided so much entertainment this season that is was fitting to bring him back for one last performance. Saturday Night Live were you watching??? If SNL wants to pull in new viewers here is their chance...how many of you would tune in to see Nick Mitchell aka Norman Gentle on SNL??? I know I would.

Kris and Keith sing a duet: I thought this was a great song for Kris and frankly he out sung Keith for most of the song but they played off each other well.

KISS and Adam duet: I thought this was great! I know the Adam haters probably didn't like it at all but how normal did Adam look next to the members of KISS?!?!? Seriously he looked like the mellow one... Plus they kept sticking out their tongues and such and made Adam's tongue games look silly. I thought Adam sang the songs really well and proved he could be a rocker.

Queen, Kris and Adam: This was another great moment. Adam out sang Kris during the chorus but Kris did really well with the verses. The greatest part about the group number was seeing how well Kris and Adam got along, you could see their chemistry during the performance.

Other highlights: Danny and Lionel, Steve Martin's number, Santana and the group, Allison and Cyndi.

American Idol: Final Two

Sad news I am out of town and probably won't be able to do a run down on the contestants after tonight's performances, I may not even see the performances until after they announce the winner! However, I would love to hear all of your thoughts when I return so please comment on this post your opinions from the performances. Who do you think is going to win???

I will tell you my pre-performance thoughts. I think Adam pretty much has it in the bag unless TWO things happen. 1. Kris knocks it out of the park and gives his best performances to date (which is possible given that Kris is a smart contestant). 2. All the Adam haters come out and vote against him just to see him lose.

I don't think there has ever been a more controversial contestant on the show before Adam. There has been controversial things that happened but I don't think that so many people have ever been against such a front runner. It is possible that all the anti-Adam people will vote for the first time tonight to see him lose.

It will be interesting to see who wins, and the judges/America's reaction.

Grey's Anatomy:

DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE SEASON FINALE YET!!!

I have so many things to say about last night’s episode so bare with me. I want to get it out there that I was overall disappointed with last night’s episode. The last few episodes of Grey’s have been some of the best, I have really enjoyed them. However the finale was sub-par, there were some great moments but overall I walked away very disappointed.

Meredith & Derek:

I am starting with them because it will be quick… I thought the post-it note was stupid. I liked some of the vows they made to one another but to write them on a post-it and then announce they you are married is just plain silly. They are the central couple of the show so I expect more than this. I know that Meredith isn’t a big wedding person but at the very least go to the court house.

Lexie & Mark:

I really wanted Lexie and George to be together, which obviously may not be able to happen now (we will talk more about that later) but I am getting on board with Sloan and Lexie. At first I was uneasy about Lexie I know a lot of Meredith fans really didn’t like her but as you know I am not a huge Meredith fan so I was pretty open to her. I think she has become a great character….I know this is hard for people to hear but I think she is the Izzie of her class, she is super intelligent but really cares about each patient. If Izzie does die I think she will take over as the resident that has a hard time drawing the line. Back to the relationship between the two, I think Lexie brings out great qualities in Mark. Mark seems to really love her and it is fun to watch a “ladies man” become a lady man. I think we will see much more of this couple next season.

Cristina & Hunt:

Cristina has become one of my favorite characters on Grey’s, she really intrigues me. The story line between her and Hunt is wonderful because both of them are so guarded and have a lot of emotional issues so it is fun to watch everything unfold. I really hope they last a while because I was very sad when her and Burke broke up, I thought they were a wonderful couple. I am happy they have found a great replacement for Cristina. I can’t wait to peel back more layers of Owen Hunt, I want to know more about his fiance and why he couldn’t call her. I want to know more about what happen to him at war. I am so intrigued by his emotional baggage. I want to see Cristina pull all these things out of him and she is great at really standing by her man through difficult situations…can’t wait!!

Izzie & Alex: (deep breath)

Well one of my friends wanted me to make sure I wrote about how wonderful Alex is so…. It is not a surprise to my readers that I love Alex. He is a complex character that has been through so much. Once again it is nice to see a guy who is typically a “ladies man” turn into a one woman guy. Izzie stole Alex’s heart in season one and has been waiting for the right time since. There have been a couple moments over the previous four seasons where Alex had a shot with Izzie but it wasn’t their time. You could always tell the way he felt about Izzie was different than the way he felt about any other of his love interests. This season he finally won Izzie’s heart and he has been showing us the deep love he has for her ever since. The last few episodes have been wonderful for Justin Chambers. He has really gotten a chance to showcase his acting capabilities and I for one am impressed. Last week when he was sitting on the bench outside the hospital after finding out Izzie had another tumor was one of his strongest emotional scenes. When he was crying to Meredith I truly believed his emotions and wanted to reach through the scene and hug him. Last night on the season finally he had many great scenes that seemed real…when he was yelling at Derek after the surgery, when he fussed with Cristina, his ranting to Izzie, and ofcourse when she was being wheeled into surgery …his tears were so real! I love Alex and I hate that he (might) have to go through this. However it could make for some great acting next season as he deals with his grief….Do you think he will fall back into hard/rough Alex?!?!? Probably, but now that we have all seen his heart it will be hard to hide it as well as he once could.

On to the actual events of last night: the struggle Izzie had making the choice of surgery was heart breaking, what a tough decision to make. It broke my heart when they did the “fake” brain sleep thing (so technical) it was so hard to watch her struggle with speaking and recognizing simple things. Also I felt so badly for Alex during that sequence because he doesn’t want to lose her but he also doesn’t want to live with regret that she is stuck being something she doesn’t want to be. I agreed with her decision to have the surgery, it seemed more hopeful than her other option. I was surprised when she made it through the surgery so early in the episode and then when she lost her short term memory I thought that was it, she will have to be put in a home or something (it seems like that would be much worse than losing your long term memory, maybe I am ignorant but you could build up new memories and people could help you understand who you once were – all of it seems bad though). I loved how Alex wrote the sticky notes all over and was really pushing for her to remember, I thought it was sweet how much effort he put into it. When he went off at Izzie those words may have sounded so hateful but I thought it was a heart wrenching moment, one that seemed so real. The emotions he went through seemed like what someone in his situation would go through, I could smoother you with a pillow, shot you up with morphine or leave you…but I can’t live with any of those options. That hit me so hard, how sad when you don’t have any good options and they all will changed your life forever! The last moments of the episode when she remembered the fight was great and I was so glad Alex and Izzie got a moment to embrace and love on each other before she lost conciseness. The question we are left with is will Izzie die??? If she doesn’t die will she back working in the hospital??? I am assuming she is dead given all the rumors but a part of me is hoping they are just trying to shock us and make us think they aren’t coming back when they are.

George:

Well they pulled one over on me BIG TIME!! It is hard to completely pull one over on me not because I am so smart and great at figuring things out but because I have a TV blog and read all that I can about each show. I usually know if someone is going to die or leave the show and so it is more of how it happens sometimes that gets me (there are times where I try not to look at stuff because I really don’t want to know). Most often I try not to share too many of those spoilers on my blog because I think it ruins some of the stories….Anyways you would have to be living under a rock to not hear about all the drama surrounding Katherine and TR leaving the show. That being said I knew that Izzie was probably going to die and that George was going to join the army, I had NO IDEA that George would be hit by a bus. At what point did ya’ll realize that it was John Doe was indeed George??? I didn’t even think about it until he wrote out “007” on Meredith’s hand….and proceeded to have chills all over my body! There was a point during the episode that I told my husband I wished they didn’t have this “other” story line in the episode because there was so much going on with the main characters; little did I know it WAS one of the main characters. So now the question we are left with is, did George die?? Will he be back next season?? If you read the news your immediate answer will be: yes he died, he won’t be back. However I read an interview with creator Shonda this morning and here is what she said about Izzie and George’s cliffhangers:

Rumors have been swirling all year that Katherine and TR wanted off the show. The season ends with both their characters' lives hanging in the balance. Purely coincidental?

SHONDA RHIMES: I don't think there are any coincidences. I think Katherine's stated publicly that she's happy to stay. I think that there have been lots of rumors about TR, but TR's never said anything. Take from it what you will.

This kind of cliffhanger almost seems tailor-made to capitalize on some of those headlines and generate buzz.

RHIMES: You have to remember, I have two shows. It's not as if I spend a lot of time reading the press. We talk about stuff in the writers' room that other people have read, but, mostly, we were really moving on character. Every year at the beginning of the season I pitch what the end of the season is going to be. And I literally sat down and pitched the last 10 minutes of this season at the beginning of the season, so we were headed towards the place that we knew we were going to go.

Do you know which one of them lives and which one of them dies?

RHIMES: Yes. And I don't know that you should be saying "which one of them lives and which one of them dies." I know what happens to the characters.

Send Off:

Well this is the main reason I thought the episode was sub-par. If indeed this was the last we see of Izzie and George I thought it was a very weak send off… I don’t feel closer with the Characters at all!!! They waited until the last five minutes to develop the story of their deaths (if they are dead) and then just ended…I didn’t like that at all. Especially with George’s character, I had been ready this whole time to have an emotional send off with all the characters saying Goodbye to George as he went off to war but now I am left feeling empty.

American Idol Top 3:

I am not going to rank them this week because I don't want to but I am going to break down each performance. Let's get to it:

Kris Allen:

“Apologize” – I agree with Simon it was a copy cat performance that wasn’t as good. I feel like a broken record but Kris does not have strong vocals and when the song went up Kris lost it but the verses sounded good, not great. The MAJOR plus for Kris is that this song is AWESOME!! Apologize is such a cool song that if anyone did it I think America would like it, you have to feel good when you are given a song like that! I think the song is great but I am not sure Kris was.

“Heartless” – During the verses I thought this was the strongest Kris’ voice has ever sounded! I actually thought his voice sounded great during most of the song but once again he struggles when he reaches for those top notes. I thought the arrangement was cool but nothing extraordinary. I have to give Kris major props because he knows how to play the game and play up his talent. I think he makes smart decisions and a lot of times that is what keeps you in the game over your actual singing skills. It was a good night for Kris because he was given a great song and he picked a great song! SONG CHOICE IS EVERYTHING IN THIS GAME!! Side Note: It was NOT better than Kayne’s version that was a little ridiculous, if we are going to call out the judges on over praising Adam Lambert you have to call them out for over praising Kris on “Heartless”. Major Major Major props for even attempting this song!!!

Adam Lambert:

“Crying” – PERFECT SONG CHOICE!!! This is who Adam is, he should sing this type of music all the time. I see Adam as a Steve Tyler! This to me was Adam’s best performance to date not because of his vocals but because I think this is who he is as an artist. I see him putting out a record with this kind of music. I thought this was a smart and great choice for Adam. Side Note: The back-up singer during his performance was awful and totally took away from his vocals at the beginning.

“One” – I didn’t think Adam’s vocals were bad but I was turned off for one reason – his over the top dramatic interpretation. This song has such strong words and I believe this could have been a real moment for Adam on stage. I am sure Adam has been through persecution in his life and had many many people judge him and these words should have really moved him. Well let me give him a little credit that the words may have moved him but it got lost in his over the top performance. There was one brief moment in the middle of the song where I felt it but I was very disappointed that I didn’t feel the passion!!

Check out Mary J. bringing the passion when she sang this song on AI back on season 4. (Chills every time)

Danny Gokey:

“Dance Little Sister” – I feel badly for Danny because Paula choose a very interesting song for him. The song fit his voice great and his vocals during the performance were spot on. The problem is this is an old song, not very relevant, and hard for people to connect with. I thought Danny vocally blew Kris out of the water in the first round but I am afraid that people are going to walk away remembering apologize because it is such a great and current song. However I thought Danny did excellent!

“You Are So Beautiful” – My husband thought this was a perfect song choice for Danny I don’t know that I totally agree… I love the tone of Danny’s voice and he didn’t get to showcase that at the beginning of the song but he did good, not great… When he was able to really showcase his voice was in the middle of the song where he changed it up and sang it with a gospel twist. I thought he did a great job changing it up to fit his voice, major props for making it his own. However this song is iconic and I am not sure everyone is going to like the changes.

I think just because of song choice Danny might go home tonight but if you take into account the actual vocals and back story then Danny is back in the game!!! I will be very sad to see Danny go but I won’t be sad to see Kris stay! It is a win, win really. However it would be interesting to see the upset of the season and Adam get voted off and the two worship leaders go head to head.

Can’t wait to see the results… Oh and dial idol really has them too close to call but Danny is at the bottom!

It’s Been a While….

I haven’t written an entry in a while (I didn’t even write my rankings on last week’s Idol). Well I will go ahead and tell you that I wasn’t shocked with the elimination of my boy Matt, even though I think he should have out lived some of the remaining contestants. Last week I thought Danny and Allison did the best and the other three did good but not great! However I really hope Allison gets eliminated this week and then it will get interesting!!

American Idol Top 4:

I am starting to feel like I am repeating myself week after week I used to think this was one of the strongest seasons of American Idol but I am giving that a second thought. I still think last season’s group overall was better, and if not better more enjoyable for my taste. I have a CD filled with songs from last year’s contestants and I must say if I had to put together a CD of this year’s finalist I am not sure I could come up with 5 songs I really loved much less 12-15!

Moving on to last night’s performances, I wasn’t impressed with anyone really except maybe the duet with Adam & Allison. It was the only song I could see myself enjoying on the radio. The top four that are left are talented but I think maybe they all peeked too early?!?!? Not sure why they are such a lackluster group but someone is going to have to knock it out of the park to beat Adam because at this point it looks like he has it in the bag! I will go ahead and rank them but it is not going to be pretty (oh and I am putting the duets in there because they were judged so I think they deserve to be ranked).

1. Adam & Allison “Slow Ride” – This duet was the only real entertaining performance of the night and I probably should go back and watch it again because the two of them really feed off each other well and I think it helped Adam stay a little more “grounded” and pushed Allison to a new level. The pair were great.

2. Allison “Cry Baby” – I am not a big Allison fan and personally would really like her to leave tonight but I think last night was her night (other than her little rant with the judges, what was she thinking?). I thought Cry Baby was good, not GREAT but there wasn’t much else to hold on to last night and overall I thought her performance was the best. Could she have picked a better song, probably, but she performed this one really well.

3. Adam "Whole Lotta Love" – I know that everyone gasps either that he is not further up the list or not further down but I thought this was one of his worst, this time I really thought he screamed it the entire time. I know you can scream great Adam, I was wowed by it the first time but now it is just annoying I just want to hear you sing. He still out sang the other two boys and rightfully so since it was Rock n Roll Night.

4. Danny & Kris "Renegade" – Wow this is so far outside of Kris’ comfort zone, he was struggling the entire song, his voice is not big, hey let's face it his voice isn’t that strong at all. It is Kris’ “artistry” that makes him good and without that on such a big song he was lost. Danny however, shined during this song he out sang Kris and for most of the parts where they sang together Danny’s voice overpowered Kris to the point that you really couldn’t even hear him. This song fit Danny’s range and style much better than Kris.

5. Kris “Come Together” – The only reason I am giving Kris this spot over Danny is because Danny hit some really bad notes at the end of the song. Kris was ok he didn’t sound awful but he looked uncomfortable and this style showed how weak his voice really is… Here is a clip from Carly Smithson singing “Come Together” last season on American Idol:

6. Danny “Dream On” – Oh Danny why did you go for those high notes? Simon was right it did sound like a horror film, which is the difference in just screaming and screaming in key (like Adam does). It made me feel so bad for you. I really have nothing else to say but ouch!

I honestly think other than Adam anyone could go home it is nearing the end and every year this is when it gets interesting! I am routing for Danny or Kris to take it probably leaning a little more towards Danny but I will be happy if either of them win but after last night’s performance I have a feeling I may be disappointed!

American Idol's theme this week is Rat Pack, meaning songs by Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. or Dean Martin. There are a number of possibilities in this genre but I see that it could make for a great week or a really really bad week. When I first heard the theme I immediately thought this could be a great week for Matt but I really hope he doesn't blow it picking an awful song and singing it in falsetto. The Hills has officially announced that it will return in the fall without Lauren. Audrina, Justin, Lo, Stephanie and ofcourse Heidi and Spencer will all be returning with a new season of The Hills. Top 7 (again) Disco Night:

I have to say last night’s dreaded Disco theme wasn’t as bad as it could have been I really liked 3 performances (Kris, Adam, Danny), 2 performances had me a little frustrated (Matt, Allison) and I disliked 2 all together (Anoop, Lil). Let’s get to it:

1. Kris – I am giving Kris the highest ranking for really one reason, his arrangement! I debated on whether to give the top spot to Kris or Adam because vocally I think Adam was MUCH better but the arrangement that Kris put together for “She Works Hard for the Money” was GREAT! In my opinion this was his best performance of the season because he really pulled a David Cook and took a song and made it sound completely different from the original and maybe better! The only negative I can say about him is that his vocals probably land him about 4 or 5 in the competition BUT his arrangements, song choice, and overall likability make him a strong contender to win the competition.

2. Adam – Like I stated above I had a hard time putting Adam at number two this week because I really enjoyed his vocals and he is a very talented artist. I also enjoy how he always gives credit to the band and the people behind the scenes that help him, I think this shows that maybe he has been the one behind the scenes before. Adam is definitely in the competition to stay.

3. Allison – Above I wrote that her performance frustrated me and here is why. I think Allison’s vocals are wonderful, seriously she is a terrific singer however she is lacking the thing that is helping Kris so much, likability and a connection with the audience. Week after week I don’t feel connected with Allison as a person, yes she has great vocals but we all know that is not what it takes to win this competition you have to really connect with the viewers and Allison has yet to do that which is why I think she is in danger tonight!

4. Danny- I thought Danny did a great job vocally, I think he has such a cool voice. I think Danny lacks the ability to change up the music and really make it his own he depends on his unique voice to do that for him which could hurt him eventually in the competition but I believe he is safe tonight.

5. Matt- Oh Matt why do you pick such awful songs!!! I love Matt’s voice, simply adore it!! I think he has so much soul and depth to his voice but he picks the absolute worst songs. Matt could really make it far as an artist but someone will have to help him pick out music that fits his voice. Also I am not a big fan of falsetto all together but I really think Matt struggles with his and yet he keeps incorporating it into his songs…STOP! I also think Matt really lets his nerves get to him he always looks so nervous on stage. Once again I think Matt is in trouble tonight.

6. Anoop- I agree with Simon that he sounded mediocre and it is definitely time for him to leave the competition. He should not make it to the top 5 but it is a possibility.

7. Lil – The problem with Lil is that everyone wanted her (including herself) to be this big voice of the season so she keeps singing these diva songs and sounds like a third rate version. She doesn’t blow us away and the way she always talks back to the judges should send her packing but I have this bad feeling in my stomach that she will be with us longer. UGH!

Ok so I started to notice that Allison picks a song every week that someone has done on American Idol before (a lot of them pretty recently) and MOST of the time I don’t think she does as well! Since the top 36 she has only done two songs that I don’t know anyone that has performed the song yet, does anyone else find this strange? Judges Save!!

As most of you can imagine I was pretty pumped on Wednesday night when the judges decided to use their one and only save on Matt! However I know that they introduced the Judges Save this year and it would have been very anti-climactic for them to not use it at all this season. I almost think they felt they had to use it because they only had one week left to use it and they were worried "oh no what if Lil gets eliminated next week and we don’t ever get to use the Judges Save". Also I read a blog by a guy that was at the show and he said the energy in the studio was crazy! He said even the crew was shouting “Save, Save, Save!!”

I think Matt is a good guy and also I think he is the comedian of the group and keeps everyone laughing. You could tell when the judges decided to save him that all the other contestants were genuinely happy for him. The first person to run and bear hug him was Adam and next up with a huge grin on his face was Kris, not to mention that Danny was yelling for him before he performed and during his performance! I think this shows that Matt is a really good guy and is good friends with all the diverse people there.

Ok now on to next week! After the excitement wore off and I stopped jumping up and down for joy I thought about next week, ugh. I am definitely nervous for Matt, they are sending home two next week and Matt is on the chopping block for sure. Matt needs to blow it out of the park next week, only problem is that it is disco week. Why oh why does American Idol do this to us?? I don’t want to hear anyone sing disco, quite frankly I don’t want to hear them sing Country either, I want the themes to be current and stay with a theme that will really help the contestants shine, or atleast give them a chance. I know that I am speaking too soon and maybe this weeks show will blow me out of the water but I am never a fan of disco. I don’t really enjoy disco music, movies, or dances. Whenever someone pulls disco out on “So You Think You Can Dance” it is going to be a boring night for that couple. All that being said the good thing is that I think it will be a hard week for most of the contestants. If I had my way Lil and Anoop would be going home next week (or maybe Allison). I know that many of you like Anoop and I DO TOO, but he has made it to the top 7 and do we really think he has the chops and stage presence to make it to the top 5?!?!? As far as Allison goes I think she is a great singer and has a cool edge to her voice but something is missing from her, something about her personality doesn’t draw me in so I wouldn’t be sad to see her go.

Well my Tuesday night is planned I will be watching the show and for 2 hours dialing for my boy Matt!!! I just hope his performance will be worthy of all the votes!

Top 7 Songs from the Cinema

I have been out of touch for a while and I don’t have time to write much but I wanted to give you my brief rundown from last night:

I hate the 2 judges commenting…I always want to hear what Simon says and I think it could have really effected the voting.

I didn’t agree with many of the comments the judges made. I wasn’t blow away by any of the contestants but I didn’t think anyone was awful either. I don’t think it was anyone’s best performance or even in their top 2 except maybe Anoop (that’s not saying much).

Here is my rundown: (I am sure I will get some hate comments after this)

1. Danny – I really liked his voice and passion
2. Anoop- This actually was one of Anoops best, he didn’t miss a note but he is still lacking something
3. Allison – It was good, not great
4. Matt – He definitely had some pitchy parts but when he was on it was beautiful and soulful
5. Kris – I was somewhere in between the judges on Kris, he definitely had some rocky parts and the beginning was a struggle. Once he hit the end he got into a groove but the reason Kris landed below Matt is because they both had rocky parts but I enjoyed the parts where Matt was on better than the parts where Kris was.
6. Adam- I thought Adam did a good job and technically I probably should have ranked him higher but I have enjoyed some of his other performances much more!
7. Lil – It was one of her best but it still didn’t move me, she should go home tonight but I am worried she won’t.

I think it is possible that the judges would save someone tonight if it is anyone but Anoop or Lil I honestly don’t think they would save either one.

The Duel 2: Episode One - The Fight

The Duel:

I know I don’t have a lot of readers that watch this show but I LOVE it! The first episode was very dramatic, loved every minute. I think we can all agree that CT is crazy. I don’t know what Adam was thinking when he kept going back, come on Adam really?!?!? I honestly feared for Adam’s life, not really because I know those people would not let it get to that, but good thing they weren’t just hanging at a normal person’s house because Adam would be VERY HURT. If you watch that scene back notice how many guys (and these aren’t average guys, they are big dudes) were trying to hold back CT and couldn’t, that boy is an Ox.

Now let’s move on once CT and Adam got kicked off the show they brought in their replacements, MJ and Nehemiah, BORING. I am not excited about either of these two, MJ is cocky and the last challenge he was on he didn’t live up to the hype. As for Nehemiah all I see when I look at him is BETH.

The Challenges should be good this time around but I wasn’t a big fan of the first challenge it was somewhat boring and they just let who they wanted to win win. Of course they are going to go after Ruthie she is a much bigger threat than Robin. I am glad that Nick is gone because I am indifferent to him and I hope that Shauvon goes home because she annoys me.

Calling all DUEL fans you definitely need to check out MTV.com they have the “Aftershow” where they talk to cast members about the last episode. This week they had CT, Diem, Brooke, Adam, Evan and Shauvon. Mark is hosting the show and since he is one of the cast members he knows what questions to ask. Also apparently CT’s brother had recently passed away and he definitely had some anger bottled up when he came on the show. Watch the aftershow for some juicy clips!

ABC CANCELLED SHOWS FINAL DATES:

ABC has finally announced when they will air the final episodes of the three big shows that got cancelled this past season:

Pushing Daisies: Saturday May 30 at 9pm

Their final three episodes will air until June 13

Eli Stone: Saturday June 20at 9pm

They will take over the spot to air their final 4 episodes wrapping up on July 11

Dirty Sexy Money: Saturday July 18 9pm

Finally they will fill the saturday night spot until ending on August 8

At least we are getting some closure on the story lines : (

Top 8 Performance Rankings

Ok so obviously BuddyTV's list was not right and I am sorry that I mis-led you I will not be posting their predictions again, anyways on to last night. I wasn't really blown away by anyone last night. I thought half the people gave solid performances, a couple gave ok performances and the bottom two were exactly what we have come to expect, disappointing.

Here is MY breakdown:

1. Matt & Adam:

I thought both of these guys gave solid performances but neither was my favorite performance by either guy. I thought Matt did a great job without his piano and showed what a great voice he has. I am not a big fan of the song so I didn't love it but i thought overall he did a great job (he showed a little of his JT side last night). Adam's version of Mad World was good, it was somewhat boring to me but I am not really familiar with the song so that may have had an effect on me. I think Adam is a solid talent and he obviously can sing well. I like the range of the song it wasn't as high as he sometimes sings and I enjoyed hearing that side of his voice.

3. Allison:

I thought Allison did a great job with the Bonnie Rait song. She sounded good but it sounded original mainly because Allison and Bonnie's voices are pretty much night and day. I kept waiting for Allison to take it up a notch and wow me but she didn't. She played it safe and it was a solid performance.

4. Anoop:

Here is the deal with Anoop he sings these slow ballads great but then he tries to pick up the beat and it goes off. My question is can someone just sing slow ballads and do well in the industry, and the answer is yes! I put Anoop in a similar category as Boys II Men (don't get me wrong they aren't in the same league, Boys II Men were incredible) they sang mostly slow ballads, they had a couple fast songs but were known for their slows tunes. Anoop could sing some R&B stuff and show everyone his vocals and every now and then throw a fun song in but he needs to be known for his slow songs. All that being said I thought this was a great song choice, he really shined. Plus I loved his green sweater!!

5. Danny & Kris

Danny's performance wasn't as good as the judges said it was and Kris's performance wasn't as bad as they said! I thought Danny did good but not nearly as good as he has been in the past, I really didn't like the arrangement and in the beginning I felt he was off with the music but maybe that is the way it was suppose to sound. However I think Danny has good vocals and showed off his ability to slow it down in the beginning of the song. Kris made the same mistake that Matt made last week singing in the crowd, not sure why this turns out bad for the contestants, maybe it is distracting. I thought Kris sounded ok nothing really bad nothing really good but I lost the depth that he brought last week, this performance was flat for me. However I still think Kris is good and I agree with the judges that he has a likability that should help him make it through this week.

7. Lil:

Completely agree that it sounded Karaoke, it was a good Karaoke but not great! At this point in the game if you are just copying a song it should at least be GREAT! I still think Lil is lost in the competition and will be gone with in the next few weeks.

8. Scott:

This was just a bad performance! Poor Scott missed more notes than he hit. I feel bad for him because he is such a sweet guy but he has got to go. Oh and the electric guitar was ....interesting.

I think that Scott and Lil will be in the bottom three and the third to join them will probably be Kris, Matt or Allison just because Danny and Adam seem to have a pretty good fan base and Anoop was in the bottom last week which usually gives them a boost for the next week.

Judges Save:

So the judges only have three more weeks to use the judges save, remember they can't use it once we hit the top 5. So if for some reason, Kris, Danny, Adam, Matt or Allison get the boot before then I think any of them have a great shot at being saved. It will come down to how they do the week they are voted off or how they have done overall... Those of you who are worried about Kris since he was at the bottom of dialidol, I honestly think the judges would save him if he got the boot. The question is at this point do we think the judges will end up not using the judges save??? It is possible that they won't use it because if Scott and Lil both get the boot in the next couple weeks I don't know that they would use it. The other contestants are all so close that I am not sure they would find it valuable, UNLESS ofcourse Adam gets the boot before the top 5 but sorry Adam haters I seriously doubt that happens.
